Not a lot to say really. Tonight is the return of SNME and I'm curious who all is going to watch it. Triple H & Cena Vs. Mysterio, Orton & Angle in the main event. Trish & Mickie Vs. Candice & Victoria. JBL Vs. Austin in a beer drinking contest. Boogeyman Vs. Booker. HBK Vs. Shane in a street fight.

Documentary about World Class, compelete with interviews with surviving alumni. The guy making it is apparently doing the whole self-release thing, he said on the site's message board he's going to make an announcement soon about the DVD release. http://www.rightherepictures.com/main.htm

Saw this interesting comment in a transcript of a Viscera interview on WO: WTF? Who in WWE was worried about being outshined by Big Vis The Love Machine? The man was doing his job and went from being an entertaining part of RAW to being the World's Largest Jobber, seemingly because someone's feelings got hurt.

Eddy Guerrero v Dean Malenko - 2/3 falls - 08/26/95 (ECW) Man, FUCK this crowd! Since when is it a sign of "respect" for a bunch of self-important fans to spend the duration of a match putting themselves over and finding ways to break kayfabe? Reactions like the ones here essentially make ECW a useless exercise overall, because the mutants refused to buy into anything the company was selling, they were dead set against suspending their disbelief, and their top priority seems to be coming up with creative chants, with swear words whenever possible, instead of letting the workers tell a story, reacting to it and *then* doing their pretentious applause, probably not even…

So Smackdown is on UPN, a Viacom (CBS) station. Raw is on USA, who's owned by GE along with NBC, where SNME airs. So what does ABC have to do with anything? Still: My favorite part: Yeah... because all the other luchadores are such monsters. http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/pr...rint?id=1754238

If WWE cared about the Cruisers, I'd say this was a good move since they have an angle with him and Helms just begging to play out. Unfortunately, this was probably nothing more than a thumb in the eye to TNA and Moore will be jobbing on internet Velocity in 3 months.

Apparently, the current plan, according to Meltzer on WOL sometime back, is RVD/HHH in the main event for the belt. Okay, now THAT'S something I want to see, just because I can't imagine what types of chants the mutants are going to come up with for HHH. So, I thought we'd use this thread to make predictions.

From Wrestling Observer: Can't imagine they could really have got a better UK team. I'm not as much of a fan of Storm and Fleisch as most people but they work the right style and are more well known than anyone else. Williams is pure class in the ring so will be interesting to see how he works with the others. Mexico's team looks red hot. Mistico's been catching fire for a while now, and Dragon's a great worker. Japan's looks really solid too. Tanaka's good, Gedo's solid, Liger's best years are behind him but he knows how to pace and work and all the things that some of the less experienced spottier X guys need help with, same goes for Dragon in Team Mexico…

wwe is having talks with one of the world's best women's fighters. the fighter is a leading figure in her sport & the wwe believes also has the look to appeal to wrestling fans. having a grappling background is considered a big advantage when training to become a wrestler. don't know whether the fighter is interested, but wwe would look to push her as a big star & possibly work shoots against current wrestlers.

TNA's new timeslot will now be 11pm Thursday rather than the previously announced prime time slot. This is probably good news since the 9pm slot had Impact running before UFC rather than after, which would have really hurt their ratings. Anything that gets them out of Saturday Night Hell would be a good thing. Raven has stabilized at 280 pounds, his undisclosed medical problem that caused him to take leave from TNA is that his thyroid is shot from his years of drug abuse. If you missed the last PPV, Scott Steiner is now sporting a chest tattoo that has a sword piercing a heart. Unfortunately, from a distance it knd of looks like a giant penis. TNAwrestling …

The latest entrant in the WWE HOF.....Verne Gagne? OK, so Wrestlemania's in Chicago which was a big AWA town, but I never expected to see Vince ever acknowledge Verne having any role in the business other than being the guy who didn't see the potential in Hulk Hogan.

I've posted it at the other two boards I frequent, why not here. Though no one will care now, because it's already "late" in the IWC scheme of things, there are my thoughts on tonight's ppv. The opener was just awful. I realize people love Shelley has alot of fans and I like Lethal more than I probably should, but what the fuck was going on here? The entire opening mat sequence, which went on forever was really slowed down and delibrate, but not in that good "I want to inflict pain on you, so I'm going to take time and concentrate deeply on the application of this vicious knucklelock"..no..it was slowed down and delibrate in that "hi I'm Ashley from the Raw diva…

  20. So I was just watching some Dynamite Kid towards the end of his run in All Japan and thoughts of respect came through my mind. DK was still an awesome striker (in fact; he was heads and shoulders above any of the other 5 guys in the match) but it was obvious he was hurt and not the same wrestler he used to be. However, the fans love him and I mean loved him. The pop he got here in this particular match and the pops he was getting against the Malenkos were unreal. In fact, the pops were as good as they ever had been during his career. To me, it came across as one thing and one thing only -- That is of course respect. This in turn brought me back to thinking about…

Starting this thread as more of a reminder to myself than anything. I've been watching a lot of WCW TV from 1991-1992 the past few days, and I'm starting to wonder if DA-era WCW, while it was short-lived, was the best six months for consistently great heavyweight wrestling we've ever seen in the US. After I've made sense of everything, I want to put this all together as one cohesive post and go down the list one-by-one and make recommendations, but consider this roster, with everyone either in their primes or still able to go. Heels: Rick Rude Steve Austin Arn Anderson Larry Zbyszko Bobby Eaton Cactus Jack Terry Taylor Mr. Hughes Vader Tracy Smoth…
