Wow, the Eddie angle's going to get even more deplorable. I look forward to the apologists continuing to chastize those who are offended when WWE has an "Eddie's urn on a pole" match.

I was trying to remember another WM that didn't atleast have a big name vs. big name match on the card, and I couldn't think of many if any. Now there's been a lot of underwhleming cards on paper, but there was always the big "Hogan vs. Savage", "Austin vs. Rock," and so on and so forth. The closest one I could think of is WM IX and even that had the return of Hulk Hogan and Bret Hart vs. the unstoppable Yokozuna. And WM Xi didn't have big draws in the title match, but they had Lawrence Taylor. I'm pretty sure this show will do close to a million buys cause it's WM and the name itself is the biggest draw in the company right now. But I don't think any of the a…

It's pretty sad that they got over huge as faces in Kentucky doing a "flamboyant" gimmick yet WWE couldn't do anything with them. I guess sending them out to be squashed by Kane every week will do that.

You have a real winner when all of your main eventers are complete headcases and you're paying and screening fans.

Legalities may be the story of the year with this and the Dawn Marie situation.

c/p'ed from DVDVR: As someone who's experienced cancer in my family, I can say this is horrible news. A 2 out of 4 isn't as bad as it could be, but any cancer/tumor in the brain is nothing to mess around with. I hope he can beat this and resume a normal life, no matter if it involves wrestling or not.

Right, first off there's an explanation of what I'm talking about here.... http://www.ewbattleground.com/forum/index....showtopic=31559 Now, a booking battle is.... Basically someone sets an agenda, for instance one like... "Promotion A has been pushing the return of Wrestler B for months and have built their upcoming PPV around said return. Just two weeks before the PPV he is injured working for another promotion and will not be able to wrestle on the show. Using your current roster, the two weekly television shows before the PPV, and the PPV itself, find a way to work round the injury and not let the fans down with the PPV" etc etc. Then after both people ha…

A poster at DVDVR was waiting on a replacement from DDD and was refunded his money and was told the set has been discontinued. Any word on what prompted this? Complaints about the sound and blurrage perhaps?

Figured I start up a booking philosophies and disciplines discussion here. I'll come in here from time to time and throw out booking discipline/philosophy questions and statements to see what you guys are thinking. (I was originally going to keep this topic exclusive to here, but this site wasn't working when I typed it up so this is also in my blog spot on TSM. No one reads my blog there anyways) To start out, I was reading Pat McNeill's take on Low Ki and ROH parting ways again and something stood out for me in McNeill's last paragraph. People will say that Sapolsky does this as a disciple of Paul Heyman, who did a similar deal when he booked ECW. However, …

This is a riot. Vampiro, Sean Waltman, New Jack and Teddy Hart in the same locker room? That's crazy! All they need is Juventud.

Could be interesting over time, although they'd probably have to run small venues in the US unless they snagged a few free agents that could headline for them.

Okay, RAW did another 4.5 rating this week. I think we can say that a trend is starting and something is causing this new ratings increase. Meltzer theorized the increase was due to Ric Flair being in Main Events but last week he was only in one 30 second backstage vignette and this week he had a 10 minute match with Hunter around the 10:00 hour and both shows still did a 4.5. My guess would be new blood on top with Edge and giving Cena's character a slight tweak with a meaner, no nonsense streak. Any ideas?

I think he's greatly overrating Ross, although I will admit that Styles is not at the level Ross was even at his worst. Cruise was a stiff as an announcer, and not one whose style I enjoyed all that much, so I'm not sure where he's coming from. I don't think Styles is doing that terrific of a job myself, but it's interesting that he's being criticized by Chris Cruise.

OMG, I'm making another topic in the wrestling forum... Ok, I ain't on medication, so it must just be some badly needed humor. Anyways, point of this thread is to ask what your finisher would be if you were a wrestler. I'd have the Neck Crank Suplex, NCS just cause everyone loves accroynms, as mine. Now before anyone calls the move weak, I'd be giving it this huge twist motion that makes it look like I break the guy's neck. Reason I'd use NCS is I always thought it looked good in the games, but would've looked even better if you gave it some faster movement like I was saying. It would look devestating if done correctly.

Wow, nice to see WWE staying current with a Castro parody. That's cutting edge social commentary. I'm guessing the Bushwhackers 2006 team would be the Highlanders in OVW. All reports seem to say they suck so at least they won't be killing any potential stars with that one. HBK going to special attraction status seems to suggest Big Dave was right when he thought Shawn was hiding an injury. What more can be said about Johnny Ace treating Eddie's funeral as a networking opportunity? Stay classy, WWE.

Seeing those Superbowl MVPs walking out together before the Superbowl got me thinking about Wrestlemania. That list of guys for the NFL, coming out together, being honored. It was nice to see, and a great thing to do at Superbowl 40. All those guys were still alive, and seemed happy to be there. I took a list of people who have appeared in Wrestlemania main events since the beginning. I defined "main event" as the main title match, and/or the match that was the main draw for the show. In other words, Lawrence Taylor is there because that year was hyped around his match and used to promote the event at large. I also included Diesel and Shawn Micheals, because they were the…

Just wondered if you could scan/post it if you get a chance. It's my understanding that he talks openly about some of the things HHH did to undermine him in his time in WWE and talks pretty honestly about a lot of subjects. Thanks.

Someone in another thread mentioned how well Benoit takes the Irish Whip, saying he puts an extra spring in his step instead of jus Running. Theres a whole rack of things in wrestling that are rarely thought of as being important but they certainly help. Heres the list, with examples of what Im saying to avoid confusion. Dont let those influence your oppinon. So I ask yall who has... Best Street Clothes (Batistas suits, Jake Roberts snakeskin boots etc...) Best Slide in the Ring Run in (Billy Gunns jumping in like its a slip & slide...) Best at taking/giving the Irish Whip (Benoits extra step et al...) Interacts Best with other talent (Angle;look…

To determine who faces Cena at Wrestlemania. The matches: * RVD vs Carlito * Kane vs Chris Masters * Triple H vs Ric Flair * Shawn Michaels vs Big Show Not to hard to figure out who's going over. Only thing interesting is will they have RVD make it to the finals and do yet another job to HHH?
