Saw this on DVDVR and had to share it, some of these are hilarious: I don't know what's worse, HHH mad that WWE.com reported on HHH Jr or that the Kimmel show was disappointed that a wrestling fan wasn't a drooling retard.

It's looking more unlikely that UPN is going to renew SD, and they seemed to plant the seed on RAW for a title unification match at some point. Not to mention NBC/USA doesn't want any SD wrestlers on the Saturday Night's Main Event telecasts as long as it's on a rival network. So what's in store for SmackDown? Instead of talking about ending the brand split, there might not be a second brand at all. I can't imagine USA devoting another nigh to wrestling, where would SD go if not on UPN?

I've already requested that we get a folder dedicated to looking at shows as a whole. Looking at individual matches allows for more detail and discussion, but there are quite a few shows that can be better appreciated within the context of the other matches on the card. Since I've made it a goal to get rolling on these stacks of discs I've gotten from GH, I'm going through some WWF arena shows. Out of the stack last night was this particular show; one that featured some of the company's strongest points and showcased why 1987 was such a positive year from a creative, financial and quality standpoint. I don't plan to go through each match in much detail, just sort …

Since the NYR thread has branded some of us as being a little too negative, I thought I'd start a thread for us to list the things we like about wrestling. I'll start. I like the goosebumps I get watching Ric Flair make his entrance at Chi-Town Rumble '89.

Last week in his weekly mailbag, Dave Meltzer was asked if he thought the current WWE product is the worst in company history. He said no and said the product in the 80s was much worse. I completely disagree with him. The wrestling might not have been that great but the booking was linear, logical and made sense most of the time. Plus they made you care so much about the outcomes of the matches and angles. They built people up properly and protected guys for future money matches down the line. So do you agree or disagree with him? Which era is better? or worse?

From Meltzer: I love how every time Vince tries to do something mean-spirited lately, it ends up biting him in the ass. Not that Warrior's famous public response doesn't most likely hurt his case.

Below is a quote from DA in the current "Wrestling books that you have read" thread. His post made me think that we should do this for more books. If DA wanted to post importnat facts and passages from Wrestling At the Chase, I am sure that there are other posters who would be willing to do the same with other books. I would recommend not doing this with books like Tributes or Greatest Tag Teams. Instead, I think it would be better if we concentrated on books that are from a specific point of view. I would be more than willing to do any book on my list (preferably one I haven't read). I have Bill Watts' book on the way so that would be a good start for me. DA has already …

I figure from here on out, any shows we discuss should get their own threads. I think Spike moved the time back because they wanted to make sure they had the lkast hour sans competition, as they figured that the Unleashed shows drew better for the second hour. Here's the card: Melvin "The Young Assassin" Guillard vs Josh 'The Dentist' Neer Jonathan "The Road Warrior" Goulet vs Duane "Bang" Ludwig Jason "Live Wire" Von Flue vs. Alex "Assassin" Karalexis Chris "The Crippler" Leben vs Jorge "El Conquistador" Rivera Drew "The Master" Fickett vs Josh "The People's Warrior" Burkman Spencer "The King" Fisher vs Aaron Riley Stephan "American Psy…

Taken from DVDVR: WWE sniffing around about Roderick Strong seems to signal that Vince is about to unleash his favorite competition killing weapon: the talent raid.

I was wondering today about a couple of matches that I haven't heard talk about before and than thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where someone asks about a match and see if anyone has ever seen it. Does it exist? Is the match any good? Is there anything special about it? Two matches I was wondering about: 4/6?/91 Osaka Gym: Dynamite Kid & Johnny Smith vs Kenta Kobashi & Tsuyoshi Kikuchi -- Title match. 1987 -- Bad News/Johnny Smith vs Maeda/Takada New Japan

Thanks to Richard Trionfo of PWInsider.com for these: Impact Airing 1/21: *Chris Sabin & Sonjay Dutt defeated Elix Skipper & David Young. *Shane Douglas interviewed AJ Styles about his Street Fight with Shannon Moore tonight and would be challenging Samoa Joe for the X-Division championship at Against All Odds. Christopher Daniels came in and said it was convenient that Styles was the top contender and that it was "nice to have a friend like AJ" being sarcastic, since Styles threw in the towel for Daniels at the PPV. *They showed Sting's locker room. *A-1 & Petey Williams & Eric Young defeated Shark Boy & Ron Killings &…

I love this match. Not just because two of my favouritest wrestlers are tagging with each other -though that is a pretty big part of my enjoyment- but because everything and everyone is awesome in this match. The pace is so fast because of the way they keep revolving the guys in - there is never a period where Hogan or Hansen are in there too long, which keeps things fresh. The finish is appropriate and well done, though I wish this could have gone on 10 minutes longer because I enjoyed it so much. I think what I like most about this match isn't the whole of it, but rather the individual performances. Not that the match wasn't well structured, but it in itself was…

In the last year this UK wrestling publication has had some interesting interviews with guys like Rhyno, Christian, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Kid Kash, Test, Charlie Haas and others. I posted up scans of the Matt Hardy interview before, I was just curious if anyone would like me scan some of these other articles in.

I'll definately being getting this to see Hiroshi Tanahashi, Sting and Joe/Daniels.

Who knows if this is true, but according to PWInsider Elite, Matt Hardy has been so upset about Edge winning the title that he has been purposely attempting to get fired by showing up late, breaking dress code and being abrasive.

Looking at everything listed here, I thought we may want to put some thoughts into recategorizing the way we have this list. Here is how we'll do it. I'm all for further breaking down categories and then overlapping them by doing yet another set of countdowns. I'll explain what I mean. Category #1 - WCW and NWA This would be the category for all matches from 1985-2001, from the time Crockett started on TBS until the final Monday Nitro. May 1985-March 2001 Category #2 - WWF Pre-1990 All 60s, 70s & 80s WW(W)F would go in this category. 1963-1989 Category #3 - WWF Post-1990 All January 1990-Present WWF/E footage goes here. Category #4 - ECW A…

from the Observer via DVD message board: Johnny Ace has been given word from Vince to sign anybody TNA is interested in, even if it is guys that were just released. Some office workers have been told the idea is to sign them with lengthy no-compete clauses, then bury them so bad that by the time they go to TNA, they are damaged goods. Dave says management see this as a pivotal year for TNA, and doesn't want them to become legit competition. well, I guess we know why they re-signed Haas.

TORCH #895: COVER STORY HEADLINE ANALYSIS By Wade Keller, Torch editor It is possible that at the start of the month, Vince McMahon had expected Batista and John Cena to end the month as his world champions. By day ten, neither was champion. Each situation came about due to circumstances out of Vince McMahon's control. Batista badly injured a tricep muscle in a singles match against Mark Henry at a Smackdown house show on Sunday, a similar but more severe that he suffered to a tricep in 2004. After having the arm evaluated at Dr. James Andrews' clinic in Birmingham, Ala. on Monday, he relinquished the title at the Smackdown TV tapings on Tuesday night. A bat…
