Okay... some of the stuff we saw tonight was fairly ridiculous. Having freaking Mr. Ass and Road Dogg declare war on three people they'll probably never see face-to-face again, let alone be on an equal playing field with, the LAX flag-burning, that bathroom shit that had a very bad end, pun intended >_< ... but everything else considered, do you think TNA impressed enough people tonight with the better half of the matches?

This is for what you think the finish to Joe vs. Angle I will be, rather than what you think it should be. That poll will run tomorrow night. After Impact on Thursday, I think the finish is going to be based around heavy bloodshed, so I'm seeing either Joe or Angle win because the other is deemed too bloody to continue. It gives the winner a valid claim to victory while letting the loser save face and it also gives storyline credence to having a rematch.

Tonight is crunch time for TNA. A good rating is vital. If the number is too low it could turn Spike off of giving TNA the permanent two-hour slot they've long coveted. Even a decent number might not help TNA gain the two-hour slot. TNA did to get something special here.

DX is supposed to be two cool guys, but are they cool? Is it cool for a 37-year old (Hunter) and a 41-year old (Shawn) to run around pretending to be hip and acting like frat boys? Is the joke really on WWE and DX and the more they try to be cool the less cool they become? And what the hell was meant to be cool about that fat male stripper doing the crotch chop?

Lita in character fronting her band, The Luchagors: They even have a Myspace page that has some of their tracks up. It's suprisingly good, I like them better than Fozzy. Who would have thought Lita would be the much better 80s butt rock singer than Chris Jericho? *edit* Upon some research, it seems this was from a Halloween performance and they don't usually dress up like that. Still, LitaParka is funny no matter if it's a one time thing or not.

TNA's biggest match ever, apparently.

The most insane, awesomenest interview ever. Some highlights... His failed drug test was because he was injected with cortisone. WHen he looks at the TNA roster, he sees a ton of guys he can have 5 star matches with. He can't say the same thing about WWE. He had a part of the ten greatest matches in WWE. Pride offered him 30 million over 5 years. 1 million per match plus 3 million in endorsements each year (3 matches a year) UFC offered him 10 million for one match and to sit in the crowd at events. I a msure Bix or someone else can list more.

When Ford Field in Detroit was picked as the site for Wrestlemania XXIII it wasn't by accident. The next Wrestlemania will be the 20th anniversary of Wrestlemania III which took place at the Silverdome, also in Detroit, and saw Hulk Hogan take on Andre the Giant in front of '93,173' fans. The match is legendary. So, WWE are returning to Detroit for this special anniversary, but they also have a special match in mind; Hulk Hogan vs. The Big Show. The people hosting Wrestlemania have been quietly informed of what people speculated might happen at Wrestlemania, that one of the matches will be Hulk Hogan vs. Big Show. However, in recent months Big Show's physical condition ha…

http://www.wrestlemag.com/news/index.php?p=3714 - In a dark match, Funaki beat KC James after a sunset flip. - The Boogeyman vs The Miz & Kristal went to a no-contest to open Smackdown. No official announcement was made on the result. - Backstage, King Booker and Finlay got talking as it was announced they’ll be taking on Batista and Bobby Lashley later on in the show. - Footage of Rey Mysterio undergoing knee surgery last week was shown.

I was just wondering if anyone else has read this yet. I read it today and enjoyed it. I don't think Bischoff owned up to *quite* as much as he should have, but he did provide some interesting insight into WCW's corporate structure and how it affected what could and couldn't be done on WCW programming. And he did admit mistakes in many instances, and for the most part stayed away from personal attacks. The whole "dirtsheets" thing got old after a while, but admittedly, some of the criticisms (not all) were valid. Anyway, no one is ever going to write a book on pro wrestling where everyone is going to agree with every point made, but I think Bischoff's book is actually a g…

http://www.wrestlemag.com/news/index.php?p=3704 - The ring is set up for an ECW taping, and right now they’re making last minute changes with the lights. The set has changed a little from previous UK tapings, with the TitanTron shaped to look like a Union Jack. - A video package from WrestleMania 22 played, with John Cena being booed out of the building when he was shown. They announced that ECW was being taped tonight as well, and that also got booed. - In a dark match prior to ECW being taped, Carlito beat Doug Williams via pinfall. A short match that went about five minutes, with Carlito winning after hitting Williams with the backcracker. - ECW start…

The WWE domestic business for PPV buys is really low right now, so do you think the Survivor Series has enough juice from being one of the 'big four' to overcome that, even if it is for one show?

This is going to warp the mind of the "OMG YOU HAVE NO PROOF ANGLE TOOK PAINKILLERZ~!" crowd, along with Angle apparently trying to challenge Hogan in the History Re-Writing Olympics: So in this story we find out: Angle was indeed the major addict that everyone was reporting, but was able to quit cold turkey despite taking more painkillers than anyone in wrestling history. He begged WWE for time off, and Vince said no, undoubtedly twirling an imaginary villian moustache whilst saying it. His sister died of a herion overdose despite it being reported at the time she had the same heart problems that killed their father and plauge the Angle family. He c…

Everyone has a style of booking they prefer to see in their wrestling more then others. Some people like a lot of characters, while others want things kept moving at a frantic pace, whilst others might want to see the more talented workers in a company pushed to the forefront. Which style of booking do you like the most? Why do you like it? What about it makes you prefer it above the others?

The Kevin Federline vs. John Cena angle keeps going, and a confrontation between the two seems certain. Whether that will be a rap battle or an actual match, which is unlikely, we don't know. What we do know is that something is building up between them, the only question being how it will conclude, if it gets chance to. What we also know is that K-Fed's first appearance spiked the ratings by over a 1 million viewers. This sent people into a frenzy and they were wanting more of K-Fed. However, we also know his second appearance gained only around 250,000 viewers, showing that he drew curiosity and not much else. Where do you want this to go? Do you want it to …

Of all the major, and for this poll ROH and All Japan count as major, company champions, which one do you think has been presented the best? They don't necessarily have to have had the best matches, just been pushed and presented as if they are the number one man in the company, or brand, they represent, and someone who can credibly be billed as that promotions top wrestler.

Been noticing that some things are being changed recently, most noticably that on the new Hogan DVD they edited out Heenan's "BUT WHO'S SIDE IS HE ON??" comment and the replies to it, and Heenan's reaction when Hogan turned ("I KNEW IT"). That kinda bugs me since it was like Heenan finally was validated for hating Hogan all those years in the WWF. In several shows, they have addresses or phone numbers from contests or promotions running at the time the show originally aired. They cover up the on-screen phone numbers but they don't edit out anyone saying the number. Sucks to be the person with that number now. Also, is it me or do the Nitro portion of the Mond…

WWE hasn't been putting out a whole lot of quality programming lately, not that quality has ever been their primary goal. Some have been calling 2006 one of the worst years in a long time, and have even compared it to the dark days of 2002. Since the start of the millennium, which year do you think has been the worst from WWE from a quality standpoint? Quality can mean great matches, strong angles or compelling storylines. Whatever criteria you use, what year do you think was the WWE's worst so far this millennium?

- William Perry was quoted as saying he would “absolutely not†agree to appear on any wrestling show. - Wrestlemania will take place in three locations. The main event for the NY arena is Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper in a boxing match; the LA main will be Hogan vs. Bundy for the title; the main in Chicago was originally scheduled to be a $100,000 winner-take-all battle royal with wrestlers and celebrities. Perry was supposed to be the main hook, but doesn’t look like he’ll be there now. Meltz speculates it may have been Perry messing with Vince to show that he can’t be bought by wrestling promoters. Other unconfirmed matches include Bruno vs. Ventura, Sav…

I recently came into a lot of Wrestling Observer newsletters spanning from 1986 to 1988. I figured I’d post the more interesting WWF tidbits, since as you all know, that’s where my heart is. I’m pressed for time right now, otherwise I’d include other stuff. I’ll probably post some of that stuff when I’m on break in a month. As for this stuff, I’m probably going to skip most house show match results, unless it’s really something worth noting. The print on these things is so damn small and the old Observers aren’t broken into columns, so it’s a bitch to type up. At any rate, here are tidbits from the February 17, 1986 issue: - Wrestlemania II …

The Survivor Series is here soon, and, like last year, it's going to feature a mixture of regular matches and elimination matches, which were the hallmark of the Survivor Series concept. It used to be that the whole PPV was made up of elimination matches, but that changed in 1992 where there was only one elimination match, and even then it had different rules. The next few years saw the card made up of mostly elimination matches with a couple of regular matches thrown in, which seems to be the format of choice for the PPV, 1998 not withstanding. With all the history of the Survivor Series concept, what would you prefer the format of the PPV to be? Going back to the …

TNA have signed Kurt Angle and are heading to prime-time. On the surface, this appears to be great news, but TNA, as they tend to do, aren't making the most of it. Until they ran some local ads in a number of major markets on USA this past Monday, almost nobody outside of wrestling knew Kurt was even in TNA. Almost nobody outside of hardcore wrestling fans even know about TNA as it is. As TNA head towards prime-time it does appear they are starting to make some effort to get the word out. The other major news in TNA came almost two months ago when Vince Russo was put on the creative staff, which now consists of Russo, Dutch Mantell and Jeff Jarrett. While TNA wasn't…
