Well, it's nice to see they're going with Cena/Jericho and that HHH is gone for the foreseeable future. Fascinating how Jericho rises right to the top as soon as Trips is out of the picture, and the mic work is actually doing a lot to revitalize Jericho and give Cena a long program he can sink his teeth into as well. Carlito/Benjamin was also a better match than I expected it to be, and the Carlito/Jericho stuff was awesome in the first segment. They also seem to be teasing Matt Hardy's return. RAW just seems more ... lifelike ... without That Guy around.

    * Shinya Hashimoto dies * WWE releases a fifth of their roster * Jim Cornette gets released from his duties in OVW and is (temporarily?) replaced by Paul Heyman * WWE airs a controversial "terrorist" angle on Smackdown involving Muhammad Hassan and Undertaker * Shawn Michaels turns heel on Hulk Hogan * HHH disappears and isn't coming back in the near future * Kenta Kobashi agrees to do a match in ROH * Hulk Hogan debuts his new reality show * Brock Lesnar most likely resigns with WWE * Matt Hardy's no-compete expires Wow. This has been the biggest week of news for wrestling in ages. I actually had to go check some websites and make sure I didn't mis…

Crimson Mask over at Wrestling Classics has now posted his Observer HOF ballot for 2005. This year's candidates are: Here is the list of wrestlers currently in the Hall of Fame: Requirements are that the candidate be 35 years old OR have 15 years experience in the business. Also, here's the Gordy list. It's far from official, but it's the closest thing we have to a method of weeding out the bad and supporting the good. Here are the questions. So, who are this year's top choices?

HITO/KEITH HART 10 MAN ELIMINATION TAG 1981 Stampede abouts Eliminations can take place not only over by pinfall, submission, disqualifaction or countout but by throwing your opponent over the top rope. We only see a couple of minutes of action where we than proceed to cut away until the 30 minute mark where it's Davey and Bret vs Dynamite/Myers and Gama. The action in this is just great. It's your typical very rough Stampede match with great work ethic and the electric crowd they had at the time. You even had your typical Stampede bl…

We all know why WWE can't attract high-dollar sponsors, despite drawing some of the highest ratings on cable, and we all know why pro wrestling has the image it does among the public. So my question is this -- how does that image get repaired? When I ask that question, I'm not really thinking "Stop doing *this*"-type answers, but rather things they can start doing that make wrestling a little more respectable, more mainstream and something that would attract a wider audience of fans. Recently reading about some of the sponsorship problems WWE has had for most of their existence prompted me to make this topic, and I thought some of the responses might be interesting. Off t…

Loss made the comment in another thread that in a perfect world, Bret Hart would be booking the WWE. So, what other things would occur in the perfect world? I'll throw a few out to get it started. - In a perfect world, HHH would not be married to the head of creative in the WWE. - In a perfect world, Stephanie McMahon would not be head of creative. - In a perfect world, Ric Flair would have already retired graciously. - In a perfect world, Eddie would not have flamed out as a champion and would still be carrying the strap today. - In a perfect world, guys like CM Punk and Samoa Joe could come into the company and not have to worry about what ki…

According to Scherer's hotline: * HHH will be out until after Summerslam because the creative team thinks he's overexposed. He may even take more time off than that to make another movie. * Edge/Cena is the planned Summerslam main event at this point.

Being the sabbath, I can only assume the Lord wants to get closer to me and to bless me and have his shine upon me bacause there is a Jim Breaks match from 1981 on this dvd. Phil Rippa- who is on sabbaticcal or who has turned heel or is plotting our deaths- sends me all these fucking awesome British wrestling dvds that he gets from Batboy. I have like ten of these now and I feel disingenuous by starting with a collection of a great British wrestler because you really need to know that for every masterpiece of weird ass matwork …

According to various things Tim and the DVDVR guys have said, he apparently became sort of good at some point. When did this happen? I haven't seen him since 2003, but I know Dave Meltzer bashes him constantly.

WWE.Com has learned through a reliable source that Brock Lesnar will be meeting with WWE officials. Stay tuned to WWE.Com today as this breaking story continues to develop. Now, let's say he resigns, how would you bring him back? I have to give this a lot of thought, one thing I'd defeinitely do is make him return under Paul Heyman's following.

Is it me or does it seem they're going out of their way to insult as much of their audience as possible? Who wants to watch Hulk Hogan grill some 22 year old who's going out with his daughter who despite being 16 is pimped like the next sex object pop tart. Yeah, millions of CD buyers can have wank fantasies about her but don't dare let some kid she's already friends with have a sniff. What the fuck is going on with Chavo? Smackdown's largest growing audience is latinos and WWE is basically telling them to fuck off with this gimmick. The fans couldn't have made it any more clear they don't want this Diva shit wasting TV time, but Vince apparently is a mark…
