So I guess Stevie got a receipt for Meanie? I guess JBL's punishment is a feud with the bWo. Hassan and Davari have terrorists helping them now? Wow, WWE's really on a roll with the blindingly stupid angles with racist overtones.

Skipping Class to Wrestle, Teacher Lands in Trouble By DAVID M. HERSZENHORN Published: July 1, 2005 At Benjamin N. Cardozo High School in Queens, he was known as Matthew Kaye, an earnest social studies teacher shepherding his ninth- and 10th-grade students across the panorama of global history. But out of school - on the professional wrestling circuit - he was Matt Striker, a muscleman known for a move called the lung blower. A New York high school teacher earned extra money as a pro wrestler, and the time he spent in the ring instead of in class cost him his job. His double life may have body-slammed his teaching career. According to city investigators, …

Anyone who would have stock in WWE at this point is the ultimate money mark. The McMahons are surrounded by people so often that tell them what they want to hear that when they're actually faced with tough questions that suggest things aren't all roses, they get very angry and defensive. It looks like there may have overall been a slight increase in business, but nothing earth-shattering.

I don't have much a list as I've only run into a couple at conventions. I don't really hang around at live shows trying to meet guys. New Jack: He was wandering the crowd at an ECW house show in 2000. Was signing autographs for a few people. Virgil: He was at Mid-Ohio Con about 4 years ago. Pretty funny guy. Though I wasn't in one of my more social moods so it turned into him asking me about wrestlers I liked and so forth. Going to meet Hacksaw Jim Duggan next weekend at Origins. I'm pretty excited about it since he's been a favorite of mine for a long time.

One of the biggest problems in US wrestling for the last couple of years has been the lack of real feuds. Wrestlers would just get involved in a rivalry for a few weeks leading to a PPV match and then forget about it and move on to fighting someone else. Even Eddy/JBL last year didn't have a real conclusion as it ended with Eddy being cheated out of a cage match on free tv by the man he was facing in his next program. This year it seems to me there's been some sort of return of good feuds. In WWE JBL/Cena and HHH/Batista, while they both had problems, did at least have a beginning, a middle and end with the face going over on PPV. The best example is, of course…

World Grand Prix Wrestling. I'm just curious if anyone's ever watched it before. This was a Maritime league and around Nova Scotia there were mainly two leagues people knew about back in the day. The WWF and World Grand Prix Wrestling. It's fun to hear people around me talk stories about the league but besides kayfabe memories there's nobody around on the internet who really knows anything. Not even the ultra hardcores. Hardly any footage of this stuff is available at all and I don't even know if it's possible to obtain footage of it. Still, I'm wondering if anyone else has seen it before. The reported hardest ring in wrestling, the Cuban Assasin, "Big" Steven …

I was just wondering what you all hope to see accomplished with the last three draft picks to each show, or at least who you predict the defectors will be. At this point, all I can think is that either the person who wins one of the title matches at Vengeance will jump to Smackdown. So, of those guys, who do you think is the biggest possibility? HHH Batista John Cena Chris Jericho Christian There could very well be more than one person from that list jumping, but at least one is jumping. I think we can safely rule Christian out, as far as winning the title, because if they wanted to put him over, Jericho would not have been inserted in the match. The Chr…

I was checking out his official page, and while it appears to be maintained by someone other than Vader himself, I was suprised at how it was laid out. The stories of backstage fights, in ring shoots, bragging about his arrests, and his list of people he injured in the ring really makes him sound like a asshole bully douchebag who doesn't understand the point of a worked match is to *not* hurt people. I used to think he was cool, but he really comes off like a dick.

Greg Valentine vs. Tito Santana (MSG/WWF IC Title Lumberjack Match/3.17.85): These two had been running a lengthy program with the IC title as the centerpiece. Santana had dropped the title to Valentine months earlier and in the process, had his knee injured by his opponent. Surgery and rehibilitation had brought the knee back to full strength, but it'd still be a target for Valentine. The match is the end product of Valentine acquiring a rep as a guy not opposed to taking a hike during his matches when things got too heated. As is with any Lumberjack match, the wrestlers are on the outside of the ring to prevent any such thing from taking place. Although…

I was actually digging RAW tonight, Angle-Flair was better than I expected despite the near fatality on the blown pop-up superplex spot. I liked how Flair would try to outwrestle Angle and fail, and then Kurt would try to outcheat Ric and equally fail. They established that both guys had their aspect of the game locked down. Of course the only down spot for me was the Diva Bimbo Search. Christ, isn't Slaughter a good enough company man to deserve better than to get involved in this?

I'm not referring to '80s stuff, but rather, most of the material from the late '70s and back. I see constant praise for guys like Bruno, but I've seen but a handful of matches from them that haven't made me keep an eye on the clock out of boredom. Perhaps I'm seeing the wrong stuff, but I just don't see the appeal of it. Growing up on early '90s WWF probably didn't help me, but if it's as great as it's supposed to be, those factors shouldn't matter. So sell me on it. Matches, territories, wrestlers. All that crap.

I refuse to type out the full title to the recently released two-disc compilation from WWE, but I'm more or less through it now and once again, another fine effort from the home video department. The product continues to be uninteresting, but hell if they don't continue to put out great DVDs. This is one of the comps that features a feature program with extras tacked on. Unlike other DVDs of this ilk, this is the way to go, since the Road Warriors have such an interesting story to be told. The main program is surprisingly one of the set's strongest points. We're taken from their humble beginnings in The Gym all the way to the saddening end of Hawk's life. …

Iron Sheik vs. Hulk Hogan (WWF Title Match/MSG/1.23.84): This is it. The match that signaled the true beginning of Hulkamania, a movement that has still arguably not subsided. If anyone has seen a piece of vintage wrestling footage, this is probably it. The complete match and bits and pieces have made their way onto countless commercial releases over the years. It should first be noted that although less than a month after the Backlund/Sheik match in the same arena, the atmosphere here is entirely different. The lights are down, the crowd is electric, and there's that aura that would characterize most of the Rock 'n' Wrestling era. The crowd was subdued th…

From Da Melz: Well I guess if there's one day that a Hogan turn would actually work, it'd be July 4. Ironically this only further proves what Angle was saying in that interview Loss posted that the big names that only make cameos only show up on RAW and which just makes Smackdown look that more secondary.
