Vote for the team that you feel had the best run as a tag team from 1985 to 2005. Voting will last approximately 24 hours and the winner of each match will advance to the second round. Because the goal of the tournament is to promote discussion, please feel free to explain how you came to your decision as much as possible. Match #1 - 3 Count v Jung Dragons Match #2 - Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes v Los Guerreros Match #3 - Booker T & Goldust v Nasty Boys Match #4 - Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho v Natural Disasters

Anyone ordering the show? It seems as if WWE is trying to put on a "super show" of sorts to follow up the ECW PPV. I just want to point out that the IC match didn't get a spiffy picture on WWE.com like the other matches did. Shows how important that belt is to the company.

If you feel like talking about something you've watched, but don't want to go to the point of doing something as formal as a review, do so in this thread.

  4. I'm thinking this time, we'll still do invididual topics for the tournaments, but we're doing them in poll format. That way, those who respond will possibly be more inclinced to say why they're voting the way they are instead of just naming a name and leaving the thread for bare. Remember, the whole point of a tournament is to promote debate and discussion. I figure I'll start on Monday. I'm putting this in the wrestling folder hoping that some who don't frequent the Tournaments folder will see it and be interested in participating this time around.

The 16 teams to get the most mentions will all get a bye to the second round. The remaining 32 teams will square off in the first round. I'll keep this open until Sunday and we'll start the tournament Monday. ---------------------- 3 Count (Shane Helms/Shannon Moore/Evan Karagias) Barry Windham & Dustin Rhodes Booker T & Goldust Brainbusters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) British Bulldogs (Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith) Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko Demolition (Ax & Smas…

June 24, 2005 Michael Landsberg welcomes RVD to the show and states that RVD is a tremendous talent in the ring but wrestlers do not really compete, like pro sports, as you need someone to endorse you to make it to the top. He asks Rob if that pisses him off. Rob says that in a way it does but those are just the rules of the game. Rob says he is not frustrated now but his fans are frust…

Just a warning because I know there are Rey Mysterio and Eddie fans who populate this board. Eddie vs Rey was great. It was slower paced than usual but was used effectively in giving the match an epic like feel to it. The match felt like a real struggle. I would reccomend people setting their VCRs for it.

If they were to try to create some original programming by bringing back a bunch of old-timers and having them live in a house together for three months, in sort of a Surreal Life-type show, who would you want them to be? I know they've said in the past that 24/7 will have some original programming, so I could actually see this being perversely entertaining. Who would your choices be? Mine would be the following: Jimmy Snuka Bobby Heenan Road Warrior Animal Roddy Piper Mae Young & Fabulous Moolah Gene Okerlund Droz Al Snow The show would be a total trainwreck.

Some are convinced it's the real her; some aren't. I lean toward it not being her, just because I'd think she'd be doing other things. Nonetheless, she's often caused a major stir so she's worth discussing.

I thought this might make an interesting thread. Basically, I'm asking what the best matches are that you've seen that work a style outside of that style's environment. For example, I consider Benoit v Jarrett from Starrcade '96 to be a really good WWF main event style match, at least the style that would be used a lot after Austin rose to the top. Some have also referred to Kawada/Albright as an excellent NJ heavyweight-style match. So, for some more suggestions: (1) What's the most AJPW-style match you've seen outside of AJPW? (2) What's the best lucha match you've seen outside of Mexico? Those are just a few examples, but this could be cool.

What are the biggest matches in wrestling history? These are not the matches with the best workrate, nor are they necessarily the highest grossing or best drawing matches in history. I am talking about the matches that paired some of the most significant wrestlers in history. In compiling this list, I took the top ten wrestlers from John Molinaro's book, "The Top 100 Pro Wrestlers Of All Time." It is subjective, but it is a decent list, and I think it does the job. For those who have never seen it, the top ten are Ric Flair, Lou Thesz, Rikidozan, Antonio Inoki, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, El Santo, Giant Baba, Steve Austin and Buddy Rogers. For rankings, I am l…

Well, something like that. --The Sun has an interview with John Cena at www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2003560001-2005280084,00.html. 21. I haven't seen this since October 2001 when I got the Barnett "K" tape it was on. Back then, I was still new to anything not Junior Heavyheight in Japan. I liked the match, but not enough to keep me from trading it off after a while. The same could be said of their 10/88 match. Watching both again this week, I have new appreciation for both matches and they rapidly move up my Best of the 80's list. The 10/88 match is very long. Around 36 minutes, it is a Jumbo masterpiece as he makes the match a rollercoaster of peaks and valleys, picking it up at the appropriate times and then settling down. It is interesting to see Tenyru as a close challenger as opposed to J…

Specifically, I thought of: "Not If You Were The Last Junkie On Earth" by the Dandy Warhols for Jeff Hardy (As if the title isn't appropriate enough, the refrain is "I never thought you'd be a junkie because heroin is so passe") "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails for Raven "Bonecracker" by Shocore for Chris Benoit "Bodies" by Drowning Pool for Gene Snitsky "Supernaut" cover by 1000 Homo DJs (Trent Reznor and Ministry) for Brock Lesnar (Original song done by Black Sabbath) "Never Gonna Com…

I don't know how reliable all this is, but nothing seems terribly farfetched. I can understand why they want to re-sign him, but Shawn Michaels is 40 years old. How long does he plan on making this comeback last? Is he still going to be wrestling at 50? Wasn't the idea originally for him to come back for a small handful of matches? Reid's been in trouble quite a bit lately. I'd assume that's what it is. Matt Hardy would probably be a much bigger attraction working the indies and he may even make more money doing so than working WWE. He's already committed to some dates that I don't know if he'd back out of. That said, Edge/Hardy, if they could both keep …

1 - Good for Samoa Joe's career finally seeing some direction, although I don't know how much longer TNA plans to last with no house shows and no TV to promote their shows. 2 - Interesting question, and I don't know the answer 3 - Expect HHH to use this as an excuse for having something to do with WWE's downfall if something ever happens and WWE goes out of business in 15 years or something. 4 - Woohoo!
