I thought we had one but I can't find it. The search feature doesn't work, it tries to search on Google. Anyway, I wanted to say something about Triple H after watching the end of Raw tonight. He lost to HBK. Now, outside of his win over Tajiri and his win over Ric Flair, he's lost, like, every match he's been in recently. He lost three straight to Batista. He lost at Taboo Tuesday to Flair. He lost to HBK. I'm curious what it'll take for him to get back in the good graces of the fans. I don't mean as a babyface, I'm just curious what it'll take for the IWC to not hate him anymore. Did he go past the point of no return? Do people not care about his win/loss record an…

In an effort to get some kind of group discussion going, I'll be picking a match for people to watch and then review/critique. If you want to take part, send me a PM. If you don't have the match, don't worry, as I shall send you a PM with a link to the match in question. If enough people want to take part, I'll say so in here, and in day or two I'll reopen the thread and we can start talking.

http://davidbix.com/ Bob Barnett and Dave Prazak interviews are up so far. Ex-WWE PA Quest has been interviewed but I have to fix some audio level issues. Next will probably be Scott Williams or Delirious.

The end of WCW all tends to run together in my brain, can anyone remind me what was the deal with the Hogan-Sting match here? They intro Hogan first, (who doesn't come out) then intro Sting, then try to bring Hulk out again who finally comes out in street clothes to do the whole "lay down for the pin" thing and leaving. Was this an actual angle, or just backstage bullshit bubbling over to TV?

For those of you not aware, he's the guy who stabbed Bruiser Brody. He's doing an angle in the IWA in Puerto Rico where Savio Vega stabs him with a fork: STAY CLASSY, PUERTO RICO!

This is fairly big news, some folks are predicting the demise of AAA as well. To put it in a US perspective, this would be like if Eric Bischoff dropped dead during the Monday Night Wars.

http://dl01.blastpodcast.com/indeedwrestli..._1157433044.mp3 Interesting look at the WWE from a guy who was on the low end of the totem pole.

Just watched the main feature last night and a few things stood out: WWE can be schitzophrenic when it comes to if their DVDs follow kayfabe, but this was the most "open" DVD I can recall them producing. They usually use the insider doublespeak to talk about angles, characters, and co-operation but I don't ever remember them directly talking about it before. I was really taken aback with the acknowledgement of HHH and Steph's real marriage since Hunter blew a gasket at WWE.com for doing the same thing. I kinda chuckled as well at the mention that Vince thinks sleep is the enemy, what with the long standing rumor/open secret of his fondness for Columbia's finest. …

http://www.thesuperstation.net/ This gives you the weekly NWA Anarchy show and the bi-monthly NWA Virginia show. Anarchy runs 51 minutes every week and Virginia is typically 20-30 minutes. New Anarchy shows are posted every Monday. http://www.highspots.tv/company.asp?id=12 This is CWF Mid-Atlantic. Starting in May the shows became free. They do a really poor job staying up to date with this. They typically just post 4-6 weeks worth of shows at the same time. Shows run from 30-40 minutes. http://www.wxwwrestling.com/netcast.html This is the promotion run by the Wild Samoans. I don't really watch this one on a regular basis for whatever reason. I…

Vince Russo is back. TNA, you're dumb.

Kinda sucks, I liked the gimmick. Guess he wasn't going to be able to rehab his injuries fast enough. I like how WWE.com always makes sure to give someone's real name when announcing their release, as if it's their equivalent of tearing someone's rank patches off their sleeve.

Wow, "parodying racial stereotypes" from the same folks that brought us the Wild Samoans, Umaga, Saba Simba and Gang Warz 97. I can't wait to see how mind bendingly offensive this will be. Considering it's a team of two black guys (Shad Gaspard and The Neighborhoodie from OVW) that's being called "Cryme Tyme", I can just imagine the possibilities. Of course, they already have their bases covered to play the "OMG ITS JUST A JOKE" card whenever they really go overboard.

I watched this match the other day, and I found myself into it more than anything WWE has done for a while. I realized it was because there was a lot of little things you don't see much in WWE anymore. For example: Shane McMahon's performance was so old school it was great. It was if someone gave him a comp of Tully Blanchard matches so he could perfect the "smug rich guy taking an assbeating" role. Shane gets a lot of flak for being what some people call the world's richest backyard wrestler, but he brings the goods more than just some idiot falling off stuff. He actually got a face pop for putting HHH in the Torture Rack, as if the crowd just all realized at t…

You never knew when George South might have a competitive match. Lee Scott was a crazy bump machine. The State Patrol was amazing for being jobbers in the NWA with a WWF-style gimmick. I hate to count Joel Deaton since he was competitive in AJPW, but he was a great jobber on TBS during the Crockett era too. My favorite jobber angle has to be with Lex Luger and Lee Scott in '89. Luger has just turned heel and comes out and offers to make the match a US title match out of the goodness of his heart, Scott signs the contract and WHAM!, down for the count. Luger was still getting cheered after his heel turn at first and I think this angle was good for him. Anyone el…

Not bad, considering the limitations I guess. The Cena match just looks way out of place with some of the other stuff though.

It's kind of surprising this hasn't been mentioned more lately. It was a big deal last year that this was the next national promotion battle. But the last few months have been totally glossed over for the most part. The UFC has in less than a year beaten the WWE in PPV buys. UFC 60 and 61 have both outdrawn Wrestlemania. An average UFC PPV now draws more than an average WWE PPV. WWE still draws bigger tv ratings but they get no money from that and UFC has a higher % of viewers spending money on their PPVs. Like I said, I'm surprised this hasn't been a bigger deal.

So kind of an opinion poll here. Is the Vicky Guerrero heel turn the most disgusting thing the WWE has ever done?

From the latest WO update: Looks like they're doing the usual route of pretending that the WCW runs of guys they feature in DVDs barely existed, but this is probably going to be worth whatever they charge for it just for the Piper's Pit segments.

I got disc two of the Road Warriors dvd off Netflix yesterday. One of the matches featured on the disc is the LOD/Midnight Express scaffold match from Starrcade '86. This is of course the match where Jim Cornette blew out both of his knees falling from the scaffold. What struck me most was that Condrey and Eaton both bladed during the match. I can just imagine THAT booking meeting. "Hey guys. We were just thinking. We want you to take 20 foot falls into a ring of course. We were wondering if you could possibly slice yourselves open beforehand, just for fun." "Ok. What do the Road Warriors do?" "Stand there and look good." Anyway, I don't recall…

Maybe I'm blind, but I couldn't find a thread for it. I was just at GameStop and found this in their $5.99 or 3/$10 bin. With my card and other two selections, this worked out to a little over three bucks, so I sprung for it, having no clue how it was. Anyone have this and/or is it worth watching?

When I came on the net nearly 10 years ago Shawn Michaels was a definite smark favorite. There were some who claimed Shawn had "saved the WWF" from going out of business. With heavy influence from Dave Meltzer, Shawn was generally regarded as a great wrestler and possibly one of the best of all time. There were some critics, but as a whole he was considered an elite worker. His backstage antics were mostly ignored as he had great matches that placated net fans. There were some who rated him higher than Bret, which, if claimed today, might get you banned from a few boards. Cue to nearly 10 years later and Shawn is being vilified by many (maybe even most). People …

This is the most nauseating recap of a show I think I've ever seen. http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/h...t.asp?aID=17085 How ridiculous is this? They're kids at a wrestling show. What has the world ... possibly come to? This is why people bash ROH fans all the time.
