I may or may not freestyle during the commercial breaks about what happened before the commercial breaks (example: HHH be punkin Benoit, the crowd sayin "aw", I look to the fridge to see if my frozen bread thaw, something something the law, yada yada tim mcgraw.... hee haw... jaw...) I may or may not be talking to myself throughout the night. I will, most definitely, be quoting "Party all the time". She never comes home at night, because she's out romancin. I wish she'd bring some of that love home to me.

I hope to start a small series here naming the most Influential wrestler to hold a certain title. In here i'm gonna be looking at ten past IC champs who I think have been the greatest and most influential of all time, by brining entertaining wrestling to the division, adding value to the belt, or even using it to boost themselves to the main event. I'd like some feedback on who you think is the greatest, and if you think it's not someone I have feel free to give me your opinion on it. - Pat Patterson Lets start out with the first ever IC champ. Patterson won the title during a fictional tournament in Rio, but that doesn't change the fact that he was a deserving cha…

Someone on pwtorrents.net posted a torrent of WM 3 on DVD, probably from those DVDs they released in the UK of the first 4 Wrestlemanias. Seeing it again made me wonder some things: 1. What was the point of having Hercules/Billy Jack Haynes go to a Double Countout? It's not like anyone was clamoring for that feud to continue, why didn't they blow the thing off? I don't even remember this feud continuing much after WM anyway which made the finish here all the more puzzling. 2. What happened with Adrian Adonis? I remember seeing him the next couple weeks on Superstars doing interviews with a completely bald head (only half got shaved at WM) before he disappeared a…

In WWE they used to protect people's finishers and signature moves. In the last few years it seems like they do so on a case by case basis. Booker wasn't allowed to use the Bookend and it was mocked by JR when he did. So why is it that Angle was allowed to use the rolling Germans? I know Benoit was injured, but I didn't see a Pedigree on TV during HHH's injury. Why does Cena use a fireman's carry slam as his finish instead of a DVD? Safety reasons? Why does everybody in the company use a spinebuster? And why does JR say that Batista's is "shades of Arn Anderson" when they are different moves? HHH does AA's version. I know the Spinebuster craze st…

I loved Eddie as a champion and I was realy disapionted when he lost to JBL. I think that he may not get another run with that title for a long time. I realy hope im wrong because given the time Eddie could be a fantastic WWE champion. There is no doubt that Eddie deserves another shot at the title, he is one of the best and most loved workers i the bussines today. Do you think they'll give the belt to Eddie again?

Basically who is your guilty pleasure, the wrestler who you like but sucks or whatever. And what's your favorite match that has been critically panned? Wrestler: Goldberg. I love the guy's power moves and charisma, he didn't use the same generic 1980s power moves that all the current hosses use. He came up with original moves, like the press slam into the powerslam or spinebuster, he was the first to use the spear (or at least in the manner he used it), and the jackhammer was a cool finish. I hated him when he first started and then he slowly started growing on me to the point where I was pissed at how badly they were using him in WWE. I think it had to do with…

It's no secret I'm a complete mark for the 1992 Royal Rumble match. Anytime favorite matches, moments, or something similar to those have been brought up, I've piped in with this one more times than not. Last March, I made my girlfriend sit down and watch it with me. She's not a fan by any stretch of the imagination, and is of the mindset that most wrestling is ridiculous. Still, as my favorite Rumble match, as well as one of my all-time favorite matches, I felt it was it was my duty to expose her to it. Like a good sport, she sat through it and although she was clearly bored at certain parts (as I had anticipated), she seemed to like it overall. Thinking it…

Emelianenko Fedor vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (PRIDE SHOCKWAVE 31.12.04) The Scene It?s New Years Eve. PRIDE?s biggest show of the year. Nogiuera vs. Fedor is the main event. A lot is on the line: PRIDE?s Heavyweight title was around both mens waist; the PRIDE Heavyweight Grand Prix champion was undecided after August?s controversial finals; but most of all, the winner of this fight would be the best fighter in the world. There is 6 years worth of history, and 2 years directly with Fedor and Nog here. It is so import…

I'm interested in these matches: * The women's match from Survivor Series '87 * The Jumping Bomb Angels matches (I think there are three) from the Women of the WWF commercial release * Taker's Revenge had Taker/Mankind and Austin/Bret, which some of you may be interested in * Spring Stampede was a loaded show, with Flair/Steamboat, Dustin/Bunkhouse Buck (in a Bunkhouse match that rocks!), a Cactus & Payne v Nasty Boys brawl and a pretty good big-man match in Vader/Boss Man * Wrestlerock '86 had a Rockers v Somers & Rose match I need to see, since I've loved every oth…

Back in WCW, there were countless excellent matches between Rey Mysterio (Jr) and Juvi Guerrera. I'm pretty sure the two had more PPV encounters than you can count on one hand, not to mention televised and live event matches. Their matches defined the cruiserweight division. They were fast, exciting, and a joy to watch. It wasn't just who can jump the highest, spin the most times, and run the fastest, their matches were well paced, and often stole the show. With Paul London looking set to take the Cruiserweight Title in the immediate future, and the signing of Frankie Kazarian, who word has it, is skipping OVW and going straight to TV, we could have an epic on our h…

  18. I wanted to make this separate from "What Are You Watching", because it really encompasses a more broad scope of discussion. I'll probably go back there and comment on specific matches later, but right now, I want to focus on the booking and presentation. The whole time I'm watching, I'm realizing this is truly what pro wrestling should be. Top guys are great workers who are big guys and look like they could murder anyone who crossed their path. It was amazing how even guys like Kamala and Duggan, who to my knowledge haven't really been all that good anywhere else, worked hard and bumped hard here. I guess Watts putting the fear of God in most of his talent paid divi…

I finally managed to watch the RoH 4-Corner Iron Man match to crown the first RoH champ. Williams vs Spanky vs Lo-Ki vs Daniels. Good match, but maybe a bit below what I had hoped for. It annoyed me that neither Spanky nor Williams got even ONE fall; I guess it was kinda necessary the way the match was booked - for those who don't know, getting a pin/submission was worth 2 points, while taking a pin/submission was -1. Anyway, the story after the match is that Daniels never actually got pinned and actually pinned Lo-Ki (who won) so they had to kind of book the falls around that angle I guess, but I still think Williams and Spanky should have traded falls over each ot…

In an effort to not get any work done, I am watching Takada/Tamura vs. Dan Severn/Albright 8/13/93. I am in the mood for the grappleARTS, and UWF-i tends to do the job nicely. If you want the short and sweet of it, go to the bottom and read the italics. If you want to read about the greatest love story of our time, read all. The wrestlers are introduced. Severn and Albright really are the greatest gay team that never was gay. Severn, of course, the wrestling equivalent of Freddy Mercury during the 80's. Albright, the prototypical big gay man who prefers big gay love. They both would be found at The Ironman bar, but they wouldn't be interested in one another - A…

Wrestling is a visual medium. So much depends on how things look. Which is a big reason why the WWF was able to move above other promotions in the 80's; it was also a big reason why Nitro was able to beat out Raw in the mid-90's. The product just looked better. More professional. Respectible, even. Once upon a time, the presentation of WWE's product was actually up-to-date and maybe, perhaps, gasp, trendsetting. Kevin Dunn was doing some tremendous production and video work. That was, like, 7 years ago. For some reason (which can be discussed as well), they still haven't really changed a thing. Honestly, the biggest thing I can say they've done with the pre…

I can understand the Bret, LOD, Legends, and ECW, but the Warrior one has me baffled. Is there really a market for it? In the grand scheme of things he was a flash in the pan. Me being the moron that I am, I'll no doubt buy all of them. If Hogan/Warrior II is on the UW's disc I'm there in a second. I have to see that fucking thing. I really hope the legends disc sells well so we can get some indivdual Legend 2 or 3 disc sets. The Bret disc will be WWE propaganda, but in the end Vince was right (at least in the short term to turf out Bret and go the direction he went. I think that Bret would be a great ambasador for WWE now if all the things that happened hadn…

I'd do it. I'd been thinking about it a lot when the Angle/UT at Mania rumors were going around, and thinking if they wanted to use it to set up one last title run for UT, why not use Rey as the transitional champion for Angle? I'd guarantee had Rey pulled off an upset on JBL, it would've popped the crowd huge and spiked the ratings considerably (depending on your definition of "considerably", I suppose). Give him another fluke win at the Rumble, then put it on Angle at NWO or even back on JBL to set up the match we have now. I doubt it would work as an actual carry-the-company champion, but something like this could work, dammit. Your thoughts?
