This is your basic 70's style match where we see a lot exchanging of holds. I did enjoy the bit of arm work that Dusek did in the match. Spoiler delivers this nasty looking big boot. It looked like it knocked Dusek loopy. I enjoyed the set up at the finish. I loved Spoiler snapping Dusek's neck on the rope to follow up with a top rope forearm to the neck. 2*

Randomly picked this match to honor Johnny V, and oh boy I'm glad I did. Where to begin? Well, Johnny Valiant takes an epic ass kicking from Bob, a shine that goes on for 14 MINUTES AND VALIANT DOESN'T REMOVE HIS RING JACKET THE WHOLE TIME! Next, the transition to Valiant on offense is Bob screwing up a hold and accidently knocking himself silly on the ropes. Yes, Valiant doesn't even initiate the transition. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Then we get a decent beatdown on Bob before the All American Boy rallies for the win. Great stooging heel performance by Valiant. RIP "Macho" (as it says on the back of his tights)

This is actually the third consecutive match between the two at MSG. The first match on July 2nd, was not recorded. Then they had a rematch on July 30th. This will build to a 4th match on 9/24/79 in a steel cage. Bob Backlund is accompanied by Arnold Skaaland Pat Patterson and his manager, the Grand Wizard storm off back to the dressing room before the ring introductions. Vince McMahon on commentary says "We may have for the first time ever here at Madison Square Garden, a forfeit". Patterson is the new Intercontinental Champion, but only the World Title is on the line in this match. Vince also tells us that both managers have been barred from ringside during the mat…

What can I say this was a great match . It also ties into other segments like how the Tully/Mil segment from earlier. It starts with a Killer Tim Brooks essentially saying wrestlers are afraid to face him in a Dog Collar match. This leads to Brody coming out and saying he isn't afraid of Brooks. Finally Harley comes out and Brody and him have a skirmish and we get a great promo. Match opens in the ring and Brody refuses to leave. We get a Harley brawl and Brody fucks him up. Halcon is out and must unmask before the match starts. He does and it's on. Halcon focuses on Harley's cut, and finishes him off quickly. The 2 nd fall is short as well but Harley wins with an Ato…

Brody has not been a favorite of mine, and many others here on the board. Bockwinkle on the other hand has been loved by me and many others on the board. I've always thought Bockwinkle and Buddy Rose were the 2 best at having different types of matches. Here Bockwinkle has a match that looks totally different than what he has done previously. This is 2 out of 3 falls. In the 1st fall it's all Brody. He just dominates Bock. Brody uses an incredible looking knee drop. He attacks Bock's neck. He uses the rope. Brody bites Bock's head and attacks it with head smashes. One back breaker later Brody goes over. The 2nd fall starts with Brody taking it to Bock. An eye rake…
