While one of them finally found his footing in WWE by going back to his roots as a rap and freestyle aficionado, the other gained benefits from his last chance to prove he could be a singles draw for Vince McMahon and turned into the longest reigning WWE Champion in Smackdown history. This is the place to reminisce about the rivalry between John Cena and JBL, which culminated at Wrestlemania 21 with Cena's first WWE Championship win!

Of course, I discovered Mutoh as The Great Muta as a kid through the Funk vs Flair rivalry in 1989 but I have only seldom seen Genichiro Tenryu stuff (mostly from his appearances in WWF shows from 91 to 93) so I'm curious to hear about how much of an impact this rivalry has had on puro in general. What are THE Mutoh vs Tenryu matches and angles that are highly regarded and are a must-see for people like me always looking to widen their horizons about puroresu?

For many years, it was argued that this wasn't the feud that was meant to be; that it should've been David Von Erich's finest hour and spot. David was always considered to be the best of the Von Erichs but before he ever had the chance to wrestle Flair for the NWA World title, tragedy struck the Von Erichs like it never has struck any other family. As a result, Kerry Von Erich stepped in for a memorable match at the first David Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions and the rest is history.
