  1. Started by JerryvonKramer,

This is Grimmas's deal, so I'll leave this entirely up to him. But watching as many matches of The Funks recently, I've been thinking that they'd surely have to be "up there" on any GOAT tag poll that was done. I was wondering if (just for interest's sake), people could have the option of submiting a smaller, maybe Top 20, tagteams poll to Mookie alongside their ballot. Since projects on this scale are done so rarely, I think it's a nice opportunity to create a tag list. Not nomination threads for each team, etc., since guys are covered comprehensively anyway, but it could be a little side consideration.

  2. Started by BillThompson,

We've been talking about TNA somewhat, basically whether or not a wrestler's TNA work should count for them against them, or whatever? I'm not the most versed on TNA, it's pretty much a blindspot for me. I know we have at least a couple of TNA supporters on this board, BigBadMick you're the main one I'm thinking of. Any chance that at some point you could put together a sort of watch list for people who have been nominated who did spend time in TNA? I know it's cherry picking to just be looking at their good work in TNA, but I'd rather have some work to go off of than no work.

  3. have at it.

  4. Due to restrictions on available footage, the "all-time" aspect of this project has somewhat of a defined beginning of around 1950 or so when the amount of footage exploded thanks to the advent of television in the US. Even more so with the Chicago archive going up recently. This brings me to my two-part question: a) Are you going to bother to watch anything pre-1950's and Which wrestler(s) do you think are the earliest/oldest era guys you are willing to vote for based on the watching. I began yesterday watching everything I could find pre-1950 starting with the Stecher/Caddock 1920 match. Since I really only bothered to watch clips that were at least 5 minute…

  5. Started by Grimmas,

This one is a lot trickier for me. Longevity is not going to be there for many teams, so I might have to focus on peak vs peak for these teams.

  6. Started by Dylan Waco,

I figured I would post this here for my own sake, but also because others might find it useful. Here are things I want to brush up on before the vote in order of importance to me: 1. Pre-1980 wrestling (excepting Portland where I have seen all of the 70's footage fairly recently, and to a slightly lesser extent WWWF). 2. Joshi 3. 90's Lucha 4. FMW 5. U.S. Indies (really selected matches more than anything) 6. 00's Japan (see U.S. Indies) 7. Europe

  7. Started by Loss,

One of the reasons the Smarkschoice poll in 2006 was such an effective capture of consensus at the time was that Rob Edwards (the SC admin) actually scoured other places to find people to participate. He got ballots from some very unlikely corners of the landscape. I don't know how to go about that, but I do think we should try to somehow get some outside voices involved in this. If we don't, it won't capture general hardcore fan consensus in ten years as much as it will capture what the most active PWO posters thought of wrestlers at the time. If you know someone from another message board who doesn't post here who you think would enjoy this, I encourage you to ask them …

  8. Reading the stuff that come out - in less than a week on this - has been really good. The sophistication of argument here is sky high. It has me thinking that podcasts commentating on specific matches would really help illustrate the points being argued. And would be a great incentive for me to rewatch a lot of Japanese/Mexican product with someone knowledgable holding my hand to get me through it. Just so far, I'm thinking Loss, Dawho, Bill Thompson, Matt D and loads of others would be really good at this. Please...... ;-)

  9. Started by Grimmas,

I think we'll do a few of these versus threads as the project continues, but this is one that a few people have commented on. So, make your case. Bobby or Ricky?

  10. Started by dawho5,

I put together a list by wrestler of matches from my AJPW 90s watchings. I tried to stay away from the heavily pimped early 90s stuff and hit more the less talked-about matches and a lot of the stuff from late 90s that was actually pretty good. I have the list by wrestler with one after the other (and doubled up match listings). Would it be best to put this in the individual thread for each wrestler or have a separate thread for this kind of deal?
