With all of the recent buzz of CM Punk's return and the heat Jericho seems to get on PWO, I thought I'd ask this one. Somebody on here says Punk is a bigger star, which I am not totally convinced is a fact, so I started a poll.

The topic came up in a discord server and when I looked into it, there wasn't one here comparing the two. I'm inclined to lean towards Bret, but that's more a case of me not having dug as deeply into Steamboat's career.

Recently the topic of Bret/Cena came up in a discord server I'm active in, and I was surprised to find that there hadn't been a forum made here about it before. Two of the best aces in WWF/E history, for wholly different reasons. Peaks and longevity vs. execution and consistency? Where one has an unmatched volume of big matches available, the other went above and beyond with limited opposition and opportunity.

When the term "self conscious epic" was being used around here, these were the two guys I most associated with that style. These are two wrestlers known for epic, spectacular matches but whose work is often times blatantly cooperative.

The clear cut 1-A and 1-B of their generation. Both possess many, many outstanding moments and matches on their resumes. Many considered their 2012 match a MOTD candidate. Brock was probably the bigger draw of the two by the numbers, Cena being the consistent ace of the promotion for 20 years. I'd say Cena is more famous than Brock, it's close. Cena is the better promo, although I've been very entertained by Brock's most recent babyface return without Heyman on the mic, it has definitely added another layer to his legacy and historical ranking. Ultimately, I opted for Cena but I'd like to hear some other opinions.

According to the last poll, PWO prefers Hashimoto to Tsuruta. But what about Hashimoto vs Tenryu?

Another tough one for me. I had Bock #2 and Fujinami #5 in 2016. My initial instinct is to say Bock won't finish this high again for me (although still lock for top 20), but on the other hand when I compare him to Fujinami (who I think should stay right around the same spot), I don't know that I can say Fujinami is better.

Two of the best pure babyfaces of all time. Neither of them are guys who you should consider turning heel (even though Rey was surprisingly competent at it). Who've you got higher?

There's 5 von Erich's nominated for GWE, albeit with Waldo not a real part of the clan, and I'm interested to see who ends up higher. Kerry had the highest spot in 2016, but it feels like this could go any way. Maybe not Lacey, I guess...

The consensus best "bigs" of their generation. Vader finished 14th in 2016 and Aja was 49th. It should be much closer than that. Who do you think is better?

I'm really just using these two guys as examples for something I've been thinking about lately, so you can entirely disregard any particulars about either wrestler. The question is how much extrapolation and projecting are you willing to do for GWE? How much footage is enough to get an idea of a wrestler? How do we compare wrestlers from the current era, where almost every match they've ever had is on tape against wrestlers whose footage is limited?
