We are getting a lot of new blood around here lately which is great. I just read two posts from Toby in the New Japan juniors page that was very insightful. However, I think it might be worthwhile if the newbies and maybe some "vets" on the board give a little frame of reference of where we are as a wrestling fan. I know this always help me when reading through the discussions in knowing what the general opinion of each poster going in is. I don't need a life story but hopefully this thread can be a good starting point to plunge into the world that is PWO. I will start. My name is Chad and am 26 years old. I am born and raised in the southeastern Unite…

Let's use this thread to post any problems you've had accessing the board and what you've done that has been successful in fixing those problems. I've gotten a few isolated reports of people getting the IPS Driver Error even though the board was up and running during that time, so I'm not sure what caused it. I know there's also the issue with the search engine not working properly for some people. I never have any issues. Anyway, if you've encountered something you were able to solve on your own, feel free to share those things here and this can become a thread of resources.

To avoid some of the difficulties that exist in creating new accounts through the Register option on the board, please email any new membership requests to [email protected]. Include your desired username in the email. You will receive a reply that includes a temporary password. Registration requests submitted through the board option will not be fulfilled or acknowledged. You can also use this email address to contact us regarding locked accounts, forgotten passwords and other board access issues. Thanks.

A guy called David Mantell (who has that name in his email address) has asked me to post here to follow up on his account registration, which he did several days ago and is yet to get approval. Is there a delay on admins doing this or does he need to follow up somehow?

How do I go about doing this? I got a new device and have tried logging into it, but for the life of me, I cannot remember my PW. I tried the "forget password" option at the login screen, but I never received an email. Thanks

I expect everything to go smoothly but you might want to refrain from making any long posts over the next 24 hours just in case. (The board is backed up through midnight last night.)

This is a weird one maybe. I got a new iPad. Notice there’s no visible way on the forums to log in. Finally figured out that I could start a new topic and that would take me to a log in screen. But on a mobile site I don’t see a way to log in, access account info, etc.

Since I've had a lot of requests to add more years and content to it and I haven't been able to devote time to creating the threads, I think I'm just going to open everything up and give people the ability to start threads themselves. The reason I've wanted to start the threads myself is that I've been following a very specific style. However, if you can adhere to this, feel free to start things yourselves. I'll add folders for all years shortly. - Make sure you are spelling names correctly - Use vs instead of v. or vs. or Vs (Tech writer pet peeve - I'm a stickler for consistency) - Include the promotion name, show name if applicable and date in parentheses next to…

Is something like this possible and easy to add to the board? I’d love it! Thanks.

Hey, Recently, I've had trouble editing posts. The problem seems to occur especially with quotes. Once I edit the post once, I can't edit it again. I cannot delete the post either. Is anyone else having trouble with editing?

Hi! I've popped back casually after a few years away and noticed the upgrade. One thing isn't quite right though. On mobile, images break the natural page width: It seems to me that the cause is the addition of .cPost div[data-role="commentContent"] img.ipsImage_thumbnailed{max-width:1000px;max-height:750px;} to your framework.css. That's saying that if your image is larger than 1000px wide, then reduce it to that width, which is what is happening. However, it's taking priority over another rule which says do not allow an image to be wider than the page width. I don't know what this rule was added for but it's clearly problematic. (And not the correct app…

Unfortunately I know this project is all but dead, but is there anyway these forums can be turned public or at least access given to us who are interested? Would like to see what matches were nominated for sets that were never released and what the committee members had to say about them.

I'd like to say a long absence like that won't happen again and hopefully it won't. I'm here and probably not going anywhere for a while, so I'll have a Snickers. How is everyone?

So I felt like I should say something. I'm not entirely sure what to say, but something is better than nothing I suppose. I should probably start by acknowledging my absence and apologizing for not being around for so long. I've had a lot going on in my life -- some good, some bad -- but the key words there are just "a lot". This isn't the appropriate forum to get into all of it, really, and I'm fine and my family is fine. But for better and for worse, I'm at a point in my life these days where the daily grind just empties me, and I don't have much else to say. That's the main reason I haven't posted. I asked John (wahoo's leg) to handle administrative duties fo…

I would like to make a basic set of forum guidelines for everyone to acknowledge, especially new people when they come on board. What topics do you think should be covered? These are the topics I've thought of so far but let me know if there's anything that you think should be added: Conversations that venture outside of pro wrestling Sourcing news Spoilers Spelling and grammar When disagreements get heated Discussion of copyright footage When to start new topics vs when to reply to existing ones Signatures Who to contact for what

There are some additional options for board features that I can tweak if the popular demand is there. Feel free to leave your feedback. Should we add the option to log in using Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, or Google (or continue with a board-unique log on as we currently have)? Should we create new customized streams, beyond just "Unread content", "Content I follow", etc.? If so, what should they be? Should we create RSS feeds for board activity of a specific type? I can do this for multiple things if I know how people would want it. Should we add blog feeds that show content from other sites in a designated place? (I want to think more about wh…

To faciliate the building of an awesome and interactive wrestling database, you'll notice a lot of changes and expansion on this section of the board. One of those changes includes new topics requiring admin approval. To be clear, I don't want people to submit less new topics or feel discouraged. In fact, it's more encouraged than ever, and you should consider yourselves hugely helpful (and appreciated) for building an amazing resource. It's solely so that I can ensure consistent naming conventions on thread titles and that the infrastructure around the thread (an accompanying place to discuss the full show, the wrestlers, etc) is in place before it goes up.

You'll recall that I posted (and tweeted) that I would have a big announcement coming later in the week. It's hard to know exactly where to start, so I'll just explain my current personal situation and then expand from there. I was laid off in December. The startup that I was working for needed to cut costs and my position, which I'd only been hired for six months earlier, was deemed non-essential. I've had trouble finding work since then, and job opportunities in my field (technical writing) seem to be drying up because of AI's increasing presence in the workplace. I've decided that I'm at a career crossroads and need to consider a new path. I started obtaining m…

A new thread will automatically be created here anytime that something is placed in PWO Classifieds (which I should be able to officially launch early this week). It will contain all details of the item posted, such as catalog numbers, images, official title and format, etc. This is a read-only section of the board, not a place to post and discuss stuff, which is why I put it at the very bottom of the page.

For the past couple of hours, I've had trouble loading the site and usually only get the Cloudfare backup page after about a solid minute. Is it just me? Obviously, there are temporary periods of uptime. I was hoping this was because of a software update or something, but I guess not.

I'm leaning strongly toward setting up an eBay-like section of the site for people to buy, trade, sell, and catalog original (no duplications of copyrighted work) wrestling merchandise and memorabilia. Think Discogs. eBay pockets 10% of their transactions. I'd only ask for 5%. I'm starting this thread to gauge the interest level.

I've set up a playground with the upgraded software. I'm seeking volunteer testers to hit it hard and make sure all works well. PM me for the link.
