Another fun Crockett-goes-to-Japan match in a series. This starts off with everyone throwing chairs at each other and descends into a total U.S. formula match. Liger is utilized perfectly in this unique setting, keeping the heels off-balance with his flashy offense before working a textbook FIP segment with Team Chono cheating their asses off while abusing him. Hashimoto gets the hot tag and that's worked right out of the South as well--eventually he gets isolated with Hiro Saito and you can guess how that ends up. Not essential but I could watch NJPW matches like this all day.

Clipped entrances, but shown in full beyond that. The obvious factor here, as you can obviously tell, is this Brian Dyette character: he's a really green talent, comes from American football, and was fairly hyped up given his size and youth at the time as well as being personally scouted and trained by Steve Williams; apparently according to Meltzer he was also in contention to be Kobashi's brand new tag-partner as the young gun Gaijin rookie (which would've made them essentially GET 2.0, or even the original Burning?) This unfortunately wouldn't come to much as he'd basically stop working after two months (apparently due to health issues/not liking the constant travel) s…

Tamura's RINGS debut is a short but violent affair, with big Dick landing a ton of kicks and knees and Tamura, more or less, playing it cool and awaiting for his opportunity. He manages to piss off Brig with a rear choke and when Vrij misses a spinning backhand, Tamura takes him down for the armbar but Vrij makes it to the ropes. Dick's knees are nasty and Tamura eats quite a few of them but eventually traps him in the middle of the ring and taps him with the rear choke for the big debut win. Not necessarily a great match but a great moment.

Second best match of the show behind Han/Nagai. The returning Naruse has got a hot crowd behind him and boy, do they both swing for the fences throughout this match-up. Tons of strikes, some great suplex takedowns, and good groundwork as Naruse tries to re-assert himself back in the landscape. Early on, Naruse snags the heel and doesn't let go as Todorov tries to squirm his way out of it and eventually has to roll over for a rope break. Some sweet takedowns, like the chickenwing from Todorov and the flying armbar from naruse. Todorov also delivers a pretty dope armtrap suplex. At one point, poor Todorov gets dick punched and then eats some nasty shoteis but he fires back …

It's clear who was brought in to eat the fall, but in the process he puts on a fiery, gutsy performance and he goes toe-to-toe with Tenryu as they trade some nasty slaps and punches to the mouth. He also eats some nasty chops from Tenryu straight to the throat. We get some instances and teases of the Choshu vs. Tenryu and Fujinami feuds from the 80's, but they're just flash moments and never really escalate to much. This isn't a MOTYC or anything, but it's worth watching just to see Tenryu and Kitahara go at it.

This was some neat gritty pro-wres. Both guys bring some hate and they headbutt and punch each other a bit. Fujiwara also pulls out a sweet toehold rope counter into an armbar and he also pulls off a sweet transition from one of Anjo's throws into a rear naked choke. The finish sucks as Fujiwara refuses to break the rear naked choke and Takayama who's working as a second for Anjo pulls them out of the ring and attacks Fujiwara and there's a double count out.
