  1. Dennis has switched to his skivvies because why not? He throws a belly-to-belly and then Yamazaki starts popping him with kicks, and in a cool moment, he tries to counter with a legscissors takedown when Koslowski catches a foot but Koslowski is able to hold on to the leg, sending Yamazaki to the ropes. But Koslowski doesn't let go, shoves the ref, Yamazaki's pissed, and promptly takes him out with a bunch of kicks for the TKO. Lesson learned.

  2. Okay, I think at this point, I prefer Tom Burton to Mark Fleming. Maybe. I don't know. Fleming with some 101 takedowns and a double arm suplex but the highlight here is Kanehara rocking him with a ton of leg kicks and one to Fleming's face. But of course, Fleming wins with his shitty STF. Swing and a miss.

  3. The last two these two squared off, Kakihara splattered Nakano's nose but this was a lot more one-sided, as Nakano got in most of the offense in the forms of kicks and knees. Poor Kaki gets hit the nuts like two or three times throughout the course of the match. Nakano stays aggressive and while Kaki pops him with a few kicks or slaps here and there, he doesn't really do much else but hang out in the corners. In the moment of the match, he ducks and weaves Nakano's attacks and finally lets loose on him...but it's brief and when he misses the spinning heel kick, Nakano blasts him with a knee to the face and taps him with a leglock. Weird match.

  4. Ready for a 20:00 Tom Burton match? Look, I rag on Burton a lot, understandably, but he is trying and yes, he is improving. He grabs chokes, which works for him, he catches a kick and turns it into his own single leg crab, he DDTs Takayama with a takedown. Takayama does a good job of making Burton look competent and also gets a chance to improve his ground game. Burton heats up the aggression heading into the draw, delivering a German and pelting Takayama with slaps, knees and forearms, battering him into a corner. Takayama fights back for a single leg crab but the time expires. Probably Burton's best singles match?

  5. There is so much greatness in this match. I absolutely love that 90% of the moves they do are just Lariats. This is living proof you can have a kickass one move match. "My Lariat is stronger than yours fuck you" is such classic dumb japanese machismo I can't help but love it, but the real difference between how they do it here and how some modern guys do it is in the way they it. There are no weird pauses where they just look at each other-there's clear hyping up and daring the opponent to give you his best shot. Whenever true peril emerges they fight back. The Lariats themselves look great but the "will they or will they not fall down" selling is done about as perfectly …

  6. This is a lead-in tag to the singles match in the same month. All the Hansen vs. Kawada teasing you'd expect is there and it is done really well. As a bonus you get Kobashi vs. Hansen. Take into consideration this is just before Kawada jumps over to team with Taue and it's one of the last tours you're going to see this team together (and it's against one of their best opponents in Hansen.) Kobashi is in the middle of his big singles push and Kawada has been steadily rising for a while, so it makes their Hansen interactions very interesting. Oh, and there's some fun with a chair in the ring and a dance around anyone hitting a legal man with it. AND (I saved the best …

  7. Cactus Jack vs "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff - WCW SuperBrawl III Street Fight I feel like Orndorff must have been besides himself when Cactus told him what he wanted to do and then Orndorff was like I have no qualms kicking the living shit out of you. This is a far, far departure from working with Hogan. Truth be told, Orndorff missed his calling as a sadist. Sometimes, it takes a masochist to bring out the sadist in us. The Titantron really revolutionized the ability to do these street fights and still get crowd heat. With all the brawling around the ring, it must have been hard for at least half the crowd to see at time hurting the live heat. Awesome match!…
