  1. NWA World Heavyweight Champion Barry Windham vs Arn Anderson - WCW Slamboree 1993 Ahhhh Paul Roma as a Horsemen, that’s this show. The Horsemen were being presented as baby faces for the first time given it was Flair’s homecoming from up North. So it made sense why you couldn’t have Windham join as he was the heel Lone Wolf and would be Flair’s first feud. Tully snubbing them makes them look all the worse. I am surprised this match doesn’t get a bit more play. Two well-respected wrestlers in the semi-main position with good action and blood. Arn is a pretty effective baby face. Windham showed in his 93 title reign what a Windham championship would have been. It …

  2. Vrij was uber-dominant and aggressive against Kopylov, not giving him an inch. He’s laying into him with big kicks, kicks him in the nuts at one point, and whenever Andrei gets him on the mat, Vrij is quick to grab the rope so Kopylov never really has an opportunity to keep him on the ground long enough for a submission. Kopylov finally catches him with some body blows and knees but that’s about it -- Vrij just keeps knocking him down with his mean flurries and finally pops him with a palm thrust for the KO.

  3. A half hour of mat warfare. If that's your shit, welcome. There weren’t many knockdowns – this was mostly them scrambling around, trying to grab chokes, leglocks, armbars. Anything. Ishikawa keeps taking Naruse off his feet with double leg takedowns but at one point, he grabs Naruse's leg and Naruse pops him in the face with a nasty knee strike for a knockdown. Nothing blow away but a lot of fun to see Ishikawa in this environment.

  5. Pretty nice TV iteration of a title match. Steamboat has a helluva mountain to climb, here, if he has any hope of winning as not only is he against Vader but Harley Race is at ringside getting up to all sorts of shenanigans, as well - from mugging Steamboat to straight strangling him while Vader has the ref tied up and distracted. I think for how good Steamboat is at rallying the fans behind him, the fans seemed mostly subdued for this, but his hope spots were well timed for me. This was a foregone conclusion but I kept hoping Steamboat would build enough of a comeback to topple Vader. Vader seemed quite content on not putting on much of a showing, though, which dragg…
