Really great interpromotional match that's seems to have slipped under the radar. A big dynamic is that Aja treats Eagle Sawai relatively respectfully. Kyoko Inoue on the other hand, is totally contemptuous of Leo Kitamura. Maybe she's offended at Leo having a similar aesthetic with the facepaint, right from the start of the match Kyoko refuses a handshake and beats the hell of her. It's about as sadistic as I've ever seen Kyoko in this era. The Aja vs. Eagle segments are the best part of the match and what the crowd are really hot for. They do a great job of doing enough to make the match satisfying without feeling like they're giving away a singles match. …

Sting, Davey Boy Smith & Dustin Rhodes vs Vader, Sid Vicious & Rick Rude - WCW Clash of the Champions XXIII I have been so disappointed with the Sid stuff I had been watching that I almost switched to a different project BUT I am glad I stuck with this because this is a ton of fun! Clash 23 is a sneaky good Clash! BW vs Scorp is killer and The main event of Hollywood Blonds vs Horsemen is also great. You add this wicked fun 6-man what a great show! The reason the match is not remembered more fondly in my opinion is that it feels incomplete. There’s no hot tag. Dustin’s FIP ends with getting pinned. It is a really interesting wrinkle that you almost never…

This is a hell of a match indeed, with a terrific Lizmark performance for the first fall and Estrada stepping up his game in the third. The psychology surrounding the Tirabuzon submission is great--Lizmark outwrestles Estrada at every turn, but Estrada seems to have one submission in his holster that Lizmark doesn't have an answer for. After tapping him to win the second fall the third fall is about Lizmark trying to escape being put in that hold again. I think I have the 2/14 trios match as the current Lucha MOTY but this is a solid #2.
