Their series of matches in 1993 are likely going to be my go-to for feuds between a clean-cut good guy and an arrogant f**kwad. This is their longest match together according to Cagematch (some house show matches don't have their times added) and it gives them plenty of time to play around with, which is largely given to expanding the material found in their TV work together. Probably their most "complete" match up until Fall Brawl. It's a house show but you can see clearly how expressive someone like Regal is when flexing his physical comedy chops, although Steamboat meets him on that level too in certain moments that got a pop from me. The feeling out on the mat, dirty …

BAT YOSHINAGA!!! She is the worlds greatest bizarro Aoyagi. Yoshinaga dominates Bull for nearly 10 minutes and doesn't lose a step. She kicks the fuck out of Bull and knows how to make basic holds look really painful. Eventually Bull realizes she is getting destroyed and fights back by lariating Yoshinaga's brains out. Despite that moment I was a little underwhelmed with Bull. Normally she improves every match she's in, but aside from the aformentioned lariating she actually didn't add much. I felt she was wrestling too much like one of those idol girls and not like the blue haired demon that she is. She was selling pretty hard for sympathy. Worlds different from the fren…

Harley Saito had one of the best women's matches I've ever seen in 1990, so let's see what she could do in the later much bigger era. This was one of the most sensibly worked Hotta matches I've ever seen, as it was worked as a David vs. Goliath bout. Of course Hotta brutally kicks Saito to a pulp, and even though the „outsider as sympathetic face“ story is weird it's executed extremely well here. Saito does some good work controlling Hotta while staying out of her kicking range, but eventually takes a brutal beating. The second half of this match was outstanding because it wasn't just bomb throwing but Harley really milking her moments, always being seemingly so close to …

Both guys have a similar style, although Zouev is less about the throws and more in the same vein as Volk Han, using Sambo takedowns, headscissors, arm submissions, and often turning an opponent's hold against them. Zaza comes out more aggressive than usual, landing some big kicks and a sick spinning backhand to the face. But once they get on the mat, Zoeuv takes control of the situation. He uses a grounded full nelson and a sweet arm-and-shoulder takedown into the submission. Zaza mostly sticks to neat strikes and throws, and his over-exaggerated selling of the leglock was something else. Things get sluggish toward the end as they struggle to get something going on the m…
