  1. WWF World Heavyweight Champion Yokozuna vs Hacksaw Jim Duggan - WWF Summerslam Spectacular 8/22/93 The swan song for Hacksaw in the WWF. Hacksaw has a new baby girl and Yokozuna is going to make sure he has plenty of time to spend with her. Duggan is another wrestler that I am well-versed in his Mid-South career but after that have seen very little. This is on a Summerslam Spectacular Card which is a USA Network special to hype Summerslam a week out with Jim Ross and Gorilla on the call. Again this is excellent booking as Duggan is the perfect sacrificial lamb for Yoko heading into the All-American showdown against the Lex Express. This is a million times better…

  2. Before Hoshikawa was known for his amazing Jr work, he was nothing more but a rookie dipping into shoot-style exhibitions with his first moral enemy given these two will be wrestling each other a lot. Hoshikawa here has gained a bit of confidence as he's able to land some big slaps and a hip toss early on to take advantage. Despite this he still gets overpowered into a double wrist lock, which despite the rookie arching like hell is unable to break and is forced to tap out for the first count. He tries for more stand-up as he pushes Hoshi down to the floor with a side toss into nasty neckcrank for a rope break. Wilkins lands some hard slaps into a Capture suplex, going in…

  3. Kandori's entire persona is that of someone in a huge hurry who's stuck in a line at Subway behind a person taking 5 minutes to decide what type of cheese they want--just a perpetual grump. It makes for a great contrast with the eternally bubbly Kyoko. This is a marvelously well-built match, with Inoue really working outside of her comfort zone. There are some fantastic reversals and counters, like a more intense version of the Kawada/Taue CC match. After a few heart-rendering near-falls, we got a finish that I actually really liked, and was built to just as well as the rest of the match. Some of the most dramatic rope escapes you'll ever see, which sets up the winning su…

  4. Arkangel de la Muerte match from 93? Mexicans vs. Puerto Ricans match? WING delivers it all! This was really cool to watch as it was a rare opportunity to see the Invaders show their technical skill. The early exchanges had the feel of workers who are not used to each other still clicking. I really liked the simple, powerful takedowns and sweeps and all guys looked good. Theeeen after that mexican 1st half of matwork and armdrags we move into a Puerto Rican second half were the Invaders crack the mexicans really violently in the brain with chairshots and kneedrops. I especially liked how the Invader's dives felt like they were actually assaulting the guy and not just hitt…
