I feel if you're a grown person who feels the need to dress up like Sting, Goldust, or any other wrestler when you go to a live event, not only should you be barred from entering the arena, you should also be legally prohibited from reproducing. Having said that, it's a safe bet that guys who dress up like wrestlers are unlikely to ever have any form of sexual contact with a consenting female that doesn't involve money changing hands first, so perhaps the no reproduction law would be overkill.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but anytime I read or watch anything, I tend to think about how things would work out if this was wrestling. I'm always thinking about wrestling and trying to come up with different ideas on what wrestling is and can be. For the record, I've never seen a soap opera until about a week ago, atleast not in the traditional sense. I ended up finding basically a season of General Hospital from 1983 and was thinking about how pro wrestling could borrow a lot of things from them. I'd think we would need a completely fresh presentation of wrestling to make it work, but I think some things could be borrowed. You'd need a really open mind on what w…

How do you go about introducing your kids to classic wrestling? My 4 year old doesn't watch RAW as he in bed at 9 PM... I really want to start getting him into some classic wrestling, but attempts so far to sit down and watch have been futile…trying to find an "in" or something maybe some other parents have done to get their kids into it.. He watched it with me when he was 1 and 2, but had no idea what he was watching... Now, he just won't sit down when I ask to watch and doesn't want to….trying to find a way to get him into it early in the hopes he keeps his passion going forward and we can enjoy it together, talk about it / etc…. Any ideas?

Attention members of PWO: What you are about to read is extremely dorky and insane. Swallow any beverage that might be in your mouth -- I don't want you spitting it onto your naked lady device after reading what I'm doing. Cover your hands with something soft -- I don't want you getting concussed when you smack your head after comprehending what I'm up to. Make sure you have a mirror nearby -- I want each and every one of you who reads this to look into it after you're done and recite the following 20 times: "I will never do anything this dorky. I will never do anything this dorky. I will never do anything this dorky..." Now that I've got the warnings required by law …

Hallo! I'd like to fulfill my dream this year and visit Japan. I want to attend three G1 Climax shows in Ryogoku and as much other events as possible during that time period. Because I am travelling all the way from other part of the globe to see G1, I dont want to seat in the back of the Sumo Hall. I am interested in ringside seats, but I dont know if there's a possibility of booking them in advance from Europe. Anyone have any experience in booking tickets for pro wrestling events in Japan? Any idea of how much would they cost and when they're going on sale? Unfortunately, I dont know anybody in that country so I will have to do everything by myself. Any kind of in…

People have said this as a joke before, but seriously, I would be into them hiring Coral to interfere in his matches at ringside. She'd be a natural great promo too.

So one day I watched some old movie which Robert S might know (wenn nicht, dann bist du ein liederlicher Österreicher ) and it had an original pope entrance. I was pretty floored by it and not only because it was that POS Pius XII. So here it is for you to to witness.

I am a big user of Google Calendar to organise my life and such and I think it's a great. One of the features I like is subscribing to other calendars such as my football teams fixtures, and UFC events (https://www.google.com/calendar/[email protected]) - with so many UFC shows currently it serves as a good reminder who's on what shows. This calendar is updated often and has the fight cards listed which can come in handy. I was thinking, would anyone be interested in a Pro Wrestling calender? I am not sure if I can dedicate the time to update it but if someone else reads this and thinks it's a good idea they may like to do…

Recently, when I've been out and about, whenever I walk past a lamp post or pillar, I've found myself *really* wanting to nail it with a massive lariat. Few times I've been out with someone and have just gone for it. They probably think I'm nuts, but also found it pretty amusing since I was wearing a tweed blazer at the time. But it's surely a tell-tale sign that I've watched altogether too much wrestling. What are your symptoms?

Some things to start off this thread. Anyone see Karyn Bryant's "performance" today? Also, Andrei Arlovski, who just had an awful fight with Brendan Schaub, is main eventing a UFC card in 2014. The MMA heavyweight division is really sad. I guess like the Marquardt-Te Huna main event, this is a reminder that they are really stretching themselves thin. Seriously, Arlovski is main eventing a UFC event in 2014, yikes.

The Industrial Revolution A lot of people think that the use of automated machinery in factories completely transformed the world, but this is not the case, it's just one iteration in a long line of technology. For those of us who remember pedal-operated looms, for example, the mechanisms are virtually the same, it's just that you had to have a person there operating it. So no, the move to automated weaving didn't really change anything. It was just the last step, and that last step doesn't represent a Revolutionary Change. Printing in Early Modern Europe People always point to Gutenberg as being the game changer, but they are always looking for that one.big.t…

This is something else. Speculation has started that she and her husband faked a marital affair in order to land a reality show. Fascinating article linked below. http://jezebel.com/did-tori-spelling-fake-a-cheating-scandal-to-land-a-new-1566619409/all

Recent research indicates that the anthropomorphization (my new favorite word) of animals in children's books is harmful. This thread is probably just an excuse for me to use my new favorite word, but perhaps we can compile a list of all wrestlers with animal gimmicks. More info on the study: http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2014/03/28/animals_in_kids_books_should_have_human_characteristics_a_defense_of_anthropomorphization.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQUW3Km01BM So this guy shoots a load of women in California after cutting a promo that sounds like the sort of crazy rubbish they have given Kane or Bray Wyatt over the years. On the one hand it is ridiculously creepy and almost tragic - on the other hand, if you saw this on Raw you would be ranting about how cliched and unnatural it all sounds. He has clearly watched too many movies. He is the son of a famous film director as well, which explains a lot, although doesn't explain why he couldn't get laid. Rich suburban upper class white kid who isn't repulsive looking or anything - you have to think his creepy persono worked against…

Much like there are some international fans that have been able to get the WWE Network in countries outside the U.S, I know a family that has been able to get Mexico's UFC Network here. Basically, they have two houses, one in Mexico and one in the U.S. They have their Sky Mexico bill mailed to the Mexico address, but paid the installer to install the Sky Mexico equipment in the U.S. home. We live about 15 minutes from the border, so it wasn't much work. The last two months I've been going to their house to watch the PPV's and Fox Sports fights. I haven't seen anything written about it in English, so I thought I would share some initial thoughts with you. --…

I thought this deserved a topic. Say what you want about the guy, but he knew how to get over. Talk about nuclear heel heat. He even managed to turn the Klan babyface: Unfortunately, he won't be having a funeral of his own for people to picket. Pretty unprofessional of him to refuse to do the job on the way out.

I was reading though a thread and saw a pic that jerry von Kramer posted. It brought me back to the days of evil-ly oversized and akward glasses being the only kind you could ever find. My question was this. Were the people who manufactured glasses frames like the kayfabe authority figure who inadvertently helps the heel in an already lopsided situation? OR Were they the evil bastard authority figure who was openly on the heel's side in this action? Myself, I lean towards the second. They had to know the glasses frames they were making were gawky and stupid lookin'. I mean, did they not have mirrors?

English. I expect American students to know the basic narrative of American history from the founding fathers through the Civil War etc. They should have a rough feeling of what was going on in each century going as far back as 1776. I teach American students as well as British ones. I also showed them that clip and they did do a little better: naming Carrie as well. I find their history is very patchy though, but give them more of a bye because I assume they are taught American history rather than British history in school. I expect British students to know their country's basic narrative, at least from the time of Henry VIII, if not from 1066. I also expect them…
