This is a decision match for the tag titles after Aja and Bison vacated them, only to try to win them back right afterwards. I have no idea why. I think this is the best Aja & Bison tag I've seen, Bison's performance in this is particularly good, probably had a better night than Aja actually. ****1/4 Note, if you want to watch this in almost complete form, see the version on AJW Classics 54 that aired on 8/22/11.

WWC Caribbean Heavyweight Champion Greg Valentine vs Miguel Perez Jr - WWC 01/06/92 From what I gleaned from the commentators (my Spanish is non-existent) is that Miguel Perez Sr is outside and he is handcuffed from some masked man and Valentine is the Caribbean Heavyweight Champion. My big take home was that Valentine was wasted in the early 90s. He was just left to languish in WWF and WCW as some sort of over the hill 80s wrestler but he had so much more left to give. He still moved great and packed a punch. His selling of the atomic drop was entertaining, he did his TIMBAAAAAAAHHHHHH spots at the right time. They had a great elbow firefight. I loved his stump pull…

Man, I fucking loved this. I wouldn't really think of shoot style as being the environment most conducive to big spectacles, but UWFi always did things a little differently and this had just the right amount of pro style to make it a heck of a fun spectacle. This is one of the better Albright performances I've seen. He came across as a total monster, just destroying guys with suplexes and clubbing them about the head. Whenever Yamazaki or Anjoh landed a strike of any sort it felt like an accomplishment because Gary was able to either block or catch most of them. Even something like a Yamazaki high kick that would go over Gary's head had people stirring, just because the s…

Now this is more like it and probably the best match of the show, along with the tag main event. But damn, is this fiery from the opening with Miyato letting Tamura have it. Tamura grabs a great choke into the takedown and the whole escape sequence with Tamura flipping back into control and regaining the choke was phenomenal. Tamura's slick as catgshit with his takedowns an transitions, grabbing kneebars and armbars. Miyato was really good here, too. He hits a nice fireman's carry and works his way into a snug double wristlock. He kills Tamura with a backdrop hold and then pops him in the head with a follow-up kick. Tamura's able to grab the single leg crab but Miyato mak…

Burton is like the UWFi version of Michael Elgin. He can throw some cool bombs but there's not much else to him. We don't even get any cool bombs here -- he pretty much stinks. His strikes are non-existent and his ground game is as basic as it gets. But he couldn't sell water to a goldfish. Kakihara at least adds some life to this match by popping him with slaps and kicking him in the face. Burton wins with a crab hold. Skip.

Ooh boy, JT Southern in the house. Not a good match BUT Nakano is a little shithead in this and that's the reason why we love him. He wallops JT in the head when he's getting up from the ground and after Southern fumbles around the mat for awhile, Nakano kicks him in the head again and finishes him off with a full nelson suplex into the single leg crab. Strong finish for Nakano and one of the only highlights in an otherwise bleh match.
