February 1992

  1. Oh this rules. It's the 4th best match of their rivalry and is more of an angle really. It reminds me of that Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart "fight" on Raw in 1997 where Austin injures Bret, although this one officially is a match even if they barely ever get in the ring, and even when they do it's more to maul each other with weapons than actually wrestle. But they get a title match in two months so this gives nothing away. Just a chaotic hate-filled fight leaving a trail of destruction everywhere. ****

  4. OK match. I liked the opening a lot as Haystacks attacked Muprhy outside of the ring and slammed his head into the apron and stomped him, that's not something I've ever seen in WOS or Reslo before. Haystack's control segment was not as interesting here as it was in their 1988 match as it had more rope choking and wandering around. Murphy's body shot that allowed him to turn the transition back into offence and the corner post shot was cool, and his punches look good here too but there wasn't much to this match. **1/2

  5. Samu and Fatu really keep this match going and moving, whether it be with classic heel tactics (biting and gouging and choking, oh my!) or little touches of character work, especially during the third fall. There’s a decent pace throughout but the first two falls are meandering brawls and there’s not enough about the third fall to make this match jump off the proverbial page, aside from a couple of quick highlights like a sweet dive by Fantasma near the finish. This one definitely falls in the skippable category for me. My full review can be found here.
