I did a podcast with LuchaWorld's Fredo Esparza talking about every candidate in the Lucha region of the Observer this week and we got into pretty much everyone, but would really enjoy the fine folks at PWO to give it a listen and see what the experts here think, whether you're a voter or just someone more interested in Lucha history I think this show hits on a few levels and we even go into a few meta topics like how important magazines were to Lucha Libre back in the old days, how hot things were in the 80s, how influential Los Misioneros are to Trios wrestling style, "cool" rudos, how awesome Sangre Chicana is, how big a star Huracán Ramirez was in the movies, and who …

I love Greg "The Hammer" Valentine. He needs to be celebrated more. PTBN is holding a Greatest wrestler in WWF/E history. Greg Valentine is someone that will make my top 5-15, roughly and I think more people ought to seek out his work. Two things: 1. There are more matches I need to watch, but there is always more matches to watch. I decided Voltaire is right "Search for perfection is the enemy of good." I just wanted to get these reviews out there so people could be inspired to watch more Hammer. 2. I want to write a real in-depth 1-3 paragraphs on what makes Valentine great that really unifies all the different threads found in these reviews, but I ran out o…

First off a special thank to all the PWO members who came up with this playlist for me! Wrestling with a Generation Gap begins a two part look at one of the greatest, but most obscure to modern fans, Nick Bockwinkel! We take a look at the Bock as he does battle with Verne Gagne, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Wahoo McDaniel, Matt Murphy and teams with Ray Stevens to face the High Flyers. We also get some legendary promos and many appearances from the greatest manager of all time, the late Bobby Heenan. Rob shows a black and white match he knows literally nothing about, we try to figure out why the AWA title changed hands so many times in the 60's but almost never in t…

Join us for a VERY special episode of Wrestling with a Generation Gap. Our first special in fact! If, like us, you recently purchased WWE's Unreleased Matches 1986-1995 collection, you might have been saddened (if not shocked) to find out there was no commentary for any of the matches. Fear not! For Dave, Nick and Rob have provided a running chat to sync with Disc 1. All of us are watching this stuff for the first time. Learn all about the many talents involved and Nick's deep rooted hatred of Hulkamania is finally explained. Dave tells more great one liners and I try to explain how main even dark matches worked and how awesome it is to finally have all this stuff release…
