Last year I had a conversation with a friend that led to the start of a side wrestling project & podcast: Dro's 1992 Watch & Rank! Basically this year I'm watching matches from all over the world from the year 1992 and ranking them as I go. The debut episode is up now on both Youtube & my Patreon as a free MP3 download! Listened to a few episodes of Steve Austin's new podcast - I like it. I can see it being great. The standout episode is easily his chat with Shawn Michaels. They reveal some new things for us which is always great to hear, from a colourful era in wrestling. I can see this getting very good. Steve is probably a phonecall away from having any pro wrestler he fancies on this and some could be mouth watering good: Bret Hart, Jericho, Kurt Angle - you name it. I dare say he could even get current WWE talent on such as HHH if he were to ask. Dare I say Vince? Fucking hell, that one isn't worth thinking about. Highly reccomend you check this out.

New Day has an official WWE branded podcast that they have been showing a graphic for during SmackDown lately. I downloaded it to try it an episode, liked it, downloaded another, and have now listened to all of the. I really like this podcast. It is nothing amazing as far as shooty information goes, so in that sense it is similar to some of the reality programming on the WWE Network. However, I really found the New Day entertaining during this. It just goes to show how much better WWE programming would probably be if it wasn't so scripted.

A project two years in the making finishes as Wrestling with a Generation Gap concludes a look at the WWE Unreleased DVD set. Dave, Nick and Rob cover a plethora of dark matches and tryouts from 1993-1995, though they mostly ignore the Smoking Gunns bout. Topics covered include Undertaker being stuck with a plethora of freaks during the mid 90's, the bush league Tazmaniac gimmick, the night Rob changed Lex Luger's life for the better, Ludvig Borga - enemy of pollution, Bret Hart goodness and a beyond awful Diesel vs. Yokozuna cage match. Please note that a bunch of podcasts were recorded near each other and the audio levels issue will be addressed after the next one (alre…

SCG Radio returns this week for the latest episode of our Monday Night War Timeline series, covering March and April 2000! Breaking down all the big stories of the period and covering every Raw, Nitro and PPV, we discuss topics such as: The curious build to WrestleMania 2000, the hideous Uncensored event, Steve Austin's return at Backlash, Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo's return to power in WCW and subsequent formation of the New Blood angle, Hulk Hogan still being an arsehole, Mike Awesome jumps from ECW, WWF Vs. WCW for the ECW Title, Chris Jericho wins the WWF Title (not really), David Arquette wins the WCW Title (really), and a shocking statistic rears its head to cont…

As we discussed in the Shoot Interview thread here, Sean Oliver and Kayfabe Commentaries are getting out of the Shoot Interview DVD business. They are selling all their stock at $5.00 per DVD, and once they have sold them out they are not selling any new DVD's. Kayfabe Commentaries have started an On Demand service called KC Vault, where eventually they plan to have their entire back catalogue available to stream for $14.00 a month. They are still uploading stuff so the entire catalogue is not yet available. You can also still get their Shoots at WWN Live (which is where I purchased a bunch of the "Back to the Territories" episodes when they first came out) but that i…

Since the NWA is channelling the classic TBS studio vibe with Powerrr and AEW's Dynamite is a perfect throwback to Nitro, I thought an indy could use the format of ECW Hardcore TV to expose their product to a wider audience on a weekly basis. As the spiritual successor to ECW, Game Changer Wrestling seemed like a good fit so I pieced together a very rough pilot from various YouTube clips. I was very faithful to the original Hardcore TV, using some of the same music and basic format. I even edited together a "Tarantino promo" segment. Google Drive Link This was a lot of fun to create and if there's any interest (I'm talking even 1 person here) I'll mak…

Wrestling with a Generation Gap, a podcast with video that looks at wrestling old and new from the eyes of 2 generations of fans returns for its' 37th episode (Rob got the number wrong as the original 36 was missing at the time of recording but then found). This time out Dave, Nick and Rob look at Amarillo, with the only footage in Rob's collection from it featuring such stars as Dory Funk Jr., Tito Santana, Ted Dibiase, Stan Lane and a whole lot more. Then we go to today's NWA for a match with an old school flavor as Nick Aldis defends his title against Tim Storm. Feedback is always welcome!

Hey all - I'm currently doing a podcast with Jerry Lawler on Podcast One, replacing his old one, and no we still don't have details on what happened to the old host. You can find us right here! I've enjoyed the shows and we've had some fun topics. In the show that we recorded today and is going up tomorrow, I went over my appreciation for the psychology of his matches and how every move meant something in his, and we had a really good discussion about that. Please let me know what you think and topics you would like to hear covered, sometimes I forget just all the possibilities that are available with his unique career. Thanks!

An unscheduled roundtable/rotating guest podcast to discuss the fun in pro wrestling without really reviewing the matches, historical significance, or drawing power of anything. An opportunity for comedy and/or people to talk about favorites and/or “out there” ideas without repercussion or high level analysis. A focus on nostalgia, challenges, product enjoyment & taste level for everyone out there. Topics will change through many different style things from conceptual fantasy drafts (wrestlers, matches, concepts) to rebooking past storylines/years, to “mixtape” and conceptual “playlist” creation. Essentially, trying to take almost all large scale “objective” discourse…

Surprised no one followed this shit. I was lapsed on the pod and changed my device that I subscribe to the RSS to late last month and had issues downloading recent episodes. In fact the hosting site PodAvenue doesn’t even exist anymore! I sent a Twitter DM to Lawler’s co-host through the pod’s account about all of this and got no response, and wondered WTF happened. And OOOOOHHHH BOY what a shit show it turned out to be once I did a little digging. Turns out the co-host, Glenn Moore, was selling Lawler memorabilia (mostly shirts and commissioned artwork) for high-end prices without King’s consent or knowledge. And more importantly stiffing buyers …

Hey guys, quick question for anyone who has an Observer or Torch subscription, how complete are their newsletter archives? I'm mostly interested in the 2000s and 2010s, and I just remember the last time I had an Observer sub (approximately 3,000 years ago) the archive wasn't complete with the more recent years and I don't want to waste my money if that's still the case.

Hi friends. In either 1981 or 1982 I remember seeing a magazine article that I think was also on the cover where a guy was quoted as saying "If you think I look bad you should see my opponent!" Memory being what it is, I could be off somewhat. Any ideas? Brian
