Armchair Booking

Forum for fantasy booking.

  1. Started by Loss,

Book to your heart's content. A side note: If you take the time out of your day to read and/or post on a pro wrestling message board, you lose all rights and privileges to accuse others of needing to get laid, come out of their basements and all of the other standard insults. So don't go there. That said, keep it not creepy, please.

Having recently signed up to the newly renamed TNA+ partly due to always having a liking for TNA and partly due to finding the fantastic Cross the Line TNA podcast in which they are reviewing all TNA shows starting from the very beginning. I got me thinking and have decided to do my own rebooking of TNA from Day 1. I have set myself some rules because although this is fantasy rebooking I also want to keep it realistic. The following NWA titles will be used and the starting champions (who were the champions at the time of the first PPV.); NWA World Heavyweight Champion - 'The Beast' Dan Severn NWA World Tag Team Champions - The Shane Twins (Mike and…

  3. Started by Grimmas,

I've wanted to write some fantasy booking on here for a while. Just for fun, you know? I tried to focus on WWF, but nothing seemed appropriate. After the Vince stuff came out, I thought maybe pick a year that would hurt him the worst, but you know what? Fuck that. Let's just go with WCW instead! Set-Up On January 8th, Kip Frey took over Jim Herd's role as WCW executive producer. In this scenario, instead of Frye, it's a time-traveling Grimmas instead. Why this time, though? There are a few reasons. One is that this is one of the rare times there is no Benoit, Flair, or Hogan involved. I don't want to use them, so not having them here is a cool bonus. A…

As explained in this article, there was a period in Spring of 1990 where Verne allowing WCW use of his tag champions Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom (albeit under masks) lead to Ted making a serious offer to buy the whole AWA from the Gagne family. Per the article the deal would have included.... WCW taking over all of the AWA's syndicated TV slots as well as their slot on ESPN. WCW obtaining the AWA's vast video library. WCW taking over the contracts of all AWA talent. In addition to the previously mentioned Enos & Wayne this list of talent would have included then World champion Larry Zbysko, Mr Saito, Sgt Slaughter, Col Debeers, Tully Blanchard, Gi…

  5. (First of all, a very belated apology to everyone I ghosted years ago in Dawn of War. Now on to the show...) The AWA Presents - World Class Championship Wrestling! February 10, 1984 - David von Erich found dead in a hotel room February 4, 1986 - Gino Hernandez found dead from a drug overdose June 4, 1986 - Kerry von Erich loses his foot in a motorcycle accident. He would cover up the injury and continue his career, only to commit suicide in 1990 But what if that never happened? What if David and Gino survive and they and Kerry keep their worst self-destructive impulses under control well enough to have the long, successful careers they…

  7. When ECW folded in April 2001 it left video distribution company RF Video in a tough spot. ECW was their best seller and its absence threatened to seriously decrease their income. They initially tried to strike a deal with Combat Zone Wrestling but the negotiations dragged for months without a deal. During that time, company owner Rob Feinstein saw an event called "King of Indies" put on by All Pro Wrestling which inspired him to start a similar promotion which would eventually become Ring of Honor. A scenario I've been thinking about is one where RF Video and CZW are able to come to an agreement (from what I can tell this would include Feinstein joining CZW leadersh…

Hey everybody I've been on an early 90s WCW kick and just watched SuperBrawl 91. Tatsumi Fujinami is a legend in Japan and him versus Ric Flair in Japan was a huge money maker. However I don't think a lot of fans in the states were to familiar with him. I know they had the pay per view in Japan that set the SuperBrawl main event up but I just don't think there was enough time to really build Fujinami up to the WCW fans. I was thinking they should of put The Great Muta in this spot, challenging Flair for the title. Muta was already over in the states and also had more seasoning since his last WCW run. I think Muta would of generated more excitement and been a fresh opponen…

New Japan initially planned to hold it's annual New Japan Cup from March 4th to the 21st. Alas the pandemic struck and New Japan temporarily closed it's doors. After reopening, it held the tournament with an altered bracket as some talent couldn't return to Japan. As the name suggests, for this project I'll be using the original bracket planned for March 2020. With the out of the way, Let's get to it! March 4, 2020 Korakuen Hall, Tokyo. The Guerillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa) w/"Master Heater" Jado defeat Taguchi Japan (David Finlay & Ryusuke Taguchi) with the "Superbomb" on Taguchi. "The Flamboyant" Juice Robinson & Tomoaki…

I've played three different games on this site, I'm currently in Dawn of War, I was in the 1981 game before it shut down and I'm kinda in the Battle of the Ages but that one's mostly dead. In addition to the ones I've played personally, I've seen several other games set in various periods, 2019, 93, 95 and another in 83. But one year that I think would serve as a good starting point that I haven't seen used is 1991. I feel this is something of a missed opportunity as looking back the wrestling landscape at this time looks quite interesting in hindsight. Here's a rundown of the various companies that operated at various points in the year. WWF and WCW: established as …

  11. So this is going to be used as the official sign-up thread. So please post here if you are in. So that way, I can keep a running tally. Jeff 6. Mr. JMML

Ok full disclosure. I only watched the pre-show not the actual ppv. But that said from what I've seen/read several questionable decisions were made in terms of booking. So as a year-end gift for you -and a challenge for me- I've taken up the challenge of seeing if I can book it better. Some rules I've set for myself. 1. I'm not making anyone compete who was injured or otherwise left the company before the event (y'all know who I mean) 2. Minimum changes to the card. While I will make some changes to put certain wrestlers where I think they'd fit better, the majority of them will remain where they are. Most of the changes will be regarding who wins or how th…

  14. Myself and @SirEdger are going to fine tune the 1981 project and looking for a 3rd and/or possibly 4th member to do some fantasy booking starting in the year 1981. I have already gone through and put together 3-15 man rosters from that time period for the WWF, AWA, and MACW. I'd be open to looking at a promotion like Georgia, Florida, Mid South, or World Class if someone was interested. You'd take the 15 people who are already in your crew and then draft out the rest of the roster to 40. We'd then open free agency so if you really wanted you could have 50 but that is for each person's choice. Once …

After the draft, I will condense the remaining free agents after Low Blow pick whatever free agents he wants. It will take me a few days to get a few things together and I hope to have everything updated for everyone by Monday at the latest.

  23. Someone made the comment on reddit yesterday that they felt if Savage had the spot Hogan was given in 84, the WWF would be no less a success than what it became. I conceded that it was interesting but made the points that Hogan already had a rub from being in the Rocky movie, being a top face for Verne, as well as being familiar with the people in the WWF from his earlier time there. Savage was only established in Memphis by 1984, and to my knowledge didn't spend any long amount of time anywhere else before going to New York in 85. I find this an intriguing possibility for a few reasons. Randy had the same kind of intensity and ability to do stuff off the top ropes …

So awhile back on another message board I went and rebeooked majority of the WrestleMania cards. Now I must warn you there is no background or hardly any details in my booking is mainly just the card I would like to see. The WrestleManias I didn't rebook are WrestleManias that I think are perfect just the way they are and if I don't talk about a match that's because I want it to happen just as it happened in real life. Winners in Red WrestleMania 1. Tito Santana v.s. Greg Valentine (c) w/ Jimmy Hart (Intercontinental Championship) 2. Hillbilly Jim v.s. Adrian Adonis 2. King Kong Bundy w/ Jimmy Hart v.s. Junkyard Dog 3. Ricky Steamboat & Jimmy Snuka v.s. Paul Orndorf…

  25. Not sure if this was a rumor or not, but apparently the original plans for WM4 were for Dibiase to win the title, while Savage would have beaten Honky for the IC title on the Main Event Special where Andre beat Hogan and sold the title to Dibiase. However, Honky threatened to jump to Crockett with the IC belt, so they changed it so that Savage wins the title. What if Honky had no issues with dropping the IC title, and they went with the original plans?
