This was Angle's last televised WWE match. While it was nowhere near as good as the RVD match, it was still a fresh and intriguing matchup. Angle in ECW had potential, especially with his new wrestling machine gimmick. It appeared as though they were headed towards a typical WWE style triple threat match at some point. Its a bit tiresome how the WWE felt the need to add an extra guy to every feud. I would have preferred a straight up Angle vs. RVD feud on the evidence of their TV match. They should have had the pair feud over the world title instead of putting the belt on Big Show of all people. We'll have to see how Angle's departure effects the WWE for the rest of the y…

This was fairly decent. It was a mano a mano match so they held back from delivering as much as they would in a title match or an apuestas match, but it was reasonably well-paced, given a decent amount of time for a mano a mano, and the exchanges were meaningful. Perro was riding on a wave of popularity at this point and didn't have to work as hard as when he was an up and comer, but he was able to pick his moments here and Bucanero's selling and Santo at ringside helped carry the drama.

SUWA is such a nasty bastard. I am pretty sure I've only ever watched 2 matches of this & I've watched both of those quite a few times (the other one being vs. KENTA). Love the lad. Like I said, he's such a nasty bastard. Here he attacks Danielson right away during his entrance & from then on, it's him working on top, even opening up the champs HEAD. Great stuff. Danielson makes some awesome comebacks, but SUWA cuts most of them off pretty quickly until THE MASTER OF THE SMALL PACKAGE strikes & gets the victory during their strike exchange. Great match. ****

This felt a bit mediocre, to be honest. They were building towards a Santo vs. Perro match the following week, but there was barely any heat between them. If it wasn't for Santo throwing a few punches, you wouldn't know they had beef. Perro was one of the most over guys on the planet at this point, but a lot of that was due to him stalling and mugging with the audience. His ring work had gone south at this point. Nothing really gelled here and there were no interesting exchanges.

This is one of my favorite WWE matches ever and one I feel is really underrated. First of all, the hate is off the charts. I am talking almost Tully-Magnum levels. They really managed to convey the feeling that they wanted to kill each other. Secondly, the mic verbals were actually great. I usually hate when guys spend half the match on the mic telling the other guy to quit and constantly disrupt the flow. But stuff like "you're gonna suffer" and "I will tear out your heart" were fresh and incorporated at appropriate times in the match. So they turned what is usually the flaw of I Quit matches into something positive. The body of the match is excellent with incred…

This is considered the weakest of the four Danielson vs. McGuinness matches from 2006, but that's largely by people who don't care for broadway matches. Danielson must have been binge watching Flair or Bockwinkel matches at the time because he had three broadway matches in August alone. I thought this was better than the Samoa Joe match since McGuinness showed more urgency in his final shot against Danielson than Joe displayed. I do think the timing of the match was odd coming two weeks after their unification bout. I'll also admit that I watched it while doing a bunch of other things since it's an hour long and I'm too old to be invested in an hour long match from one ho…
