I was at this event. I won tickets from a competition from another wrestling board and I dragged my friend who was a lapsed fan to join me. I remember telling him as Regal was making his way to the ring that this was going to be a classic as these are two of the best technical workers around. The bell rand and just 90 seconds later, Regal lands a knee strike and gets the win. I remember being pissed that they teased us with this and have it end so quickly! As far as a sub-two minute matches go, it's decent. Michael Cole, after turning heel after bullying Bryan on commentary the past few months, still does a solid job of running down Bryan and Regal's history togethe…

FUTEN baby. Ultra-stiff fast paced basically shootstyle brawl where everyone lays into each other with the stiffest punches, headbutts and lariats pro wrestling has ever seen. This is not even remembered as one of the greater matches from that brief but sweet run of FUTEN actually making tape in 2010, but it’s chock full of fantastic and violent exchanges. Just the opening exchange with Ikeda and Hara trying to pulverize each other was fantastic. I have seen some people object to the Brahmans in Futen before, but they are fine here, working stiff and their comedy spot was over quickly and didn’t derail the match. One of them also had this sick leaping headbutt. Hara looks…

A long all matwork trios with these guys, how can you go wrong? This was some sweet, sweet pro wrestling. You know it's awesome when they go back to hitting the mat in the 2nd and 3rd fall. One of those times Terry shows how good he can be on the mat, and Olimpico looked pretty good aswell, completely different from the worker he is these days, losing the mask really changes a wrestler I guess. The Navarro/Panther matchup was dynamite. They were like two spry young grapplers here, trying all kinds of freaked out twisting rolling leg locks and it was cool as hell. At one point, Navarro tried a cross armbar, which Panther defended for dear life, with all the other wrestlers…

WWE Champion John Cena vs Batista - Extreme Rules 2010 Last Man Standing I feel like I saw a unicorn but was that a John Cena babyface shine!!! It was one! Batista got frustrated by the shouldertackles. Then he got a chair and John thwarted him and hit a bulldog. This is great. The babyface is a better wrestler than the heel. Yes! Yes! Yes! Reverse elbow and clothesline. *Heavy Sigh* It was fun while it lasted. The chop block, shades of Summerslam 2008, opens up the heat segment proper. Batista did a great job zeroing in on the knee like Summerslam. Also like Summerlsam, Cena was great at selling. There was one point outside the ring where Cena just totally had me…

Usuda & Hikaru Sato vs Mashimo & Yamamoto - Kana Produce 4/29/10 You know you are a diehard pro wrestling fan when you can put on an indy Japanese shoot style match from 2010 where you know none of the competitors and enjoy the hell out of it. I had literally no clue who was who in this match. All I knew is it finished 10th in Ditch's poll for 2010, which was dominated by shoot-style. This was promoted by Kana, now Asuka in NXT and not by FUTEN which was surging in 2010. It is done in the BattlArts style, which means a little more pro wrestling-y, but usual shoot style rules about pinfalls don't matter and need to win by KO or submission. Reading Ditch's b…
