June 2010

  1. Fujita Jr Hayato vs Kenny Omega - NJPW BOSJ 2010 Not even Omega's stupid antics could ruin the glory of Fujita Jr Hayato. I will admit that I did flip off Kenny Omega on the computer screen when he kicked out at one from Fujita's classic uppercut knee. What an ass! This is shot like it is straight out of FUTEN, which badly exposes Omega, but makes Fujita look like a pro. Fujita was absolutely drilling Omega with strikes and those throws hot damn. I will say Omega wrestled 50% of the match pretty straight throwing back some hard strikes. But then other 50% was his classic gymnastics bullshit. Hayato actually accommodated him instead of saying Fuck You and kicking him i…

  5. The Mega Powers collide! Both members of SMOP fight for relevance as Hama just came off his Triple Crown upset (and subsequent loss to Minoru Suzuki) and Ake's still stalking around as a former tag champ with Hama. Having lost both of their belts recently they're doing the classic tag-team dissension stuff as the pair have joined separate groups and whatnot. Even with the immense amounts of beef on display, the two do a good job distinguishing their strengths and weaknesses: Hama is smaller and more nimble (well "nimble" wouldn't exactly describe him much at all given his size, but he can do cool small tubby guy stuff like a baseball slide to the outside and whatnot…

  6. Chris Jericho vs Evan Bourne - Fatal 4-Way 2010 A very selfless performance from Jericho, it was truly a good faith effort to make this kid look good. I liked Jericho's promo a lot before the match saying if you are under 25, he is the reason you watch and if you are over 25 he is the reason you continue to watch. He also noticed a change in his career. For the first time, he doesn't feel like the underdog or the young upstart, he is the veteran and he is at the top. It was a nice self-realization promo. He still had another WrestleMania title match in him and the stuff with Kevin Owens was incredible, you cant write Jericho off just yet as a main event act. In Je…

  7. WWE Champion John Cena vs Sheamus vs Edge vs Randy Orton - Fatal 4-Way 2010 Normally, I skip multi-man matches, but Sheamus wins the championship in this one so it piqued my interest. In the opening video package for the PPV, it says 25% chance of winning is the WORST odds a champion has ever faced that's why they call it a Fatal 4-way. Holy Hyperbole! 2010 is such an interesting year in WWE. WWE had been dominated by seven men since 2005. Three stars of the 90s (Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, HHH), one star of the Attitude Era (Edge) and the Chosen Three of 2000s (Cena, Batista, Orton). By June of 2010, 4 of those 7 men would be gone with two never returning (Batist…

  11. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hVU0MW-IGrM The GOAT Impersonation segment in wrestling history. Lethal's Flair is amazing. The Four Horsemen took a dump in the ring is an all time great line. Flair's reactions are priceless. The end with Lethal talking about being a Sixty Minute Man & it being a whole lot easier to jump on than jump off coupled with Flair's reactions makes this not only one of the best promo segments in TNA history (probably the best) but one of the best all time.
