This is a feud that went to a lot of different places. They wrestled in Houston last week. Gordman sneaks attacks to start. Love Jose starts his comeback with a great punch, and than a beautiful Lucha arm drag spot. Jose throws 2 of the nasiest lefts I've ever seen. I enjoyed Gordman going after the ribs. Then we get a big punch exchange. I loved Gordman's delayed bump off the punch. Fun bout, not nearly as heated as in Houston. Still a fun bout. 2 1/2*

For some unknown reason, they only aired the final 10 minutes JIP from this match on the 1/14/84 World Class TV show. There are other Flair-Von Erich matches that aired in their entirety, but not this one!!! We start with Flair working over David's left arm, clamping down and putting on the pressure. David starts to go for the claw with his right hand, but Flair quickly pulls his hair and brings him down to the mat. Flair screams at the referee and denies the illegal act. The title change between Backlund and Sheikybaby. Story going into the match is Sheik had ambushed Backlund a couple weeks back and attacked his neck. Going into the match, it's clear the Backlund isn't at a 100%. Sheik is able to outpower him and wear him down with submissions while Backlund does his best to try to outmaneuver his bigger, stronger challenger. Backlund sells his ass off, barely able to get any offense in. The story of the match is that any time Backlund tries to get any offense in, his own body betrays him allowing Sheik to get the advantage. Backlund looks absolutely fantastic as a sympathetic babyface and Sheik was convincing enough as a brute of a heel…
