Looking at this matchup I was expecting a wild brawl but instead this starts with Nagasaki and Okumura exchanging knucklelocks. Hm, okay. After about a minute of that this delivers though as all the good guys in this match step in and bring the goods. Some really fun exchanges between Mochizuki and Fujiwara, and once Tenryu steps in Fujiwara goes MAD and goes after him like a pitbull, bloodying him with headbutts and biting. Now Araya is punching a bloody Tenryu while Nagasaki is throwing tables in the background. Match stays in the ring though and it's really good with Tenryu doing his best Terry Funk impression with wobbly selling and wild swinging chops and lariats, an…

Fun signature Aoyagi match, meaning karateka vs. pro wrestler rounds match.Okumura isn't terribly exciting, but decent enough as a wrestler going for takedowns and submissions and willing to stand there and trade shots with Aoyagi. Actually thought this was an Aoyagi carryjob, as he obviously brings all the really fun offense, and did a neat job selling. Aoyagi was getting the better of Okumura, but the younger guy seemed to be cracking the old guy down due to youth. Also, for a guy who you think of as bringing the very real shots, Aoyagi had some really fun pro stylized kicks and punches, such as a really slick axe kick he threw after evading a takedown, or a diving kick…

This was a decent attempt at a main event fromtwo inexperienced guys. Masada kept getting the better of Fujisaki on the mat, so Fujisaki started cracking him with headbutts, bloodying him and drilling him with brutal backdrop suplex moves. Masada was busting out lucha moves here, including a gory special from the ground which was pretty choice. Other than that they weren't good enough to keep the matwork as interesting as it was in previous MUGA matches, and the match ended rather abruptly. Fun match.

This match had its moments but never really got out of second gear. I liked the urgency of the opening action and Alexander running in to dump Yamazaki with the German suplex. Fujita was real grunty and reckless, the way he'd power out of holds and toss the opposition around like sandbags. I thought Yamazaki was the standout here, with his slick as catshit exchanges with Otsuka and him wrenching on Ishikawa. Ishikawa keeps going after Yamazaki’s legs in response to the kicks but the finish came out of nowhere as Yamazaki grabs a cross armbreaker for the submission. Neat match-up on paper but didn’t quite live up to any expectations.

IWGP Heavyweight Champion Keiji Mutoh vs Don Frye - NJPW Strong Style Symphony 4/10/99 Say what you will about Keiji Mutoh, but the dude was a draw not just as Great Muta. He drew 53,000 to the Dome on this show. Granted, Frye is a strong challenger, who wrestled in Inoki's last match, with a legit shoot background and this is a part of the big NWO Japan vs Team 2000 feud. But still here is Mutoh's undercard: Masa Chono vs Onita - No Rope Explosive Barbed Wire IWGP Tag Champs Kensuke Sasaki & Shiro Koshinaka vs Genichiro Tenryu & Tatsumi Fujinami. No Hashimoto. No Ogawa. Mutoh drew 53k to the Dome on his own. Never seen a Don Frye worked match …
