  2. Entrapped by the limitations of late-Toyota matches, but still pretty good. Shida/Kagetsu make a decent unit with their respective shtick and the vets do a good job conveying that all things considered, giving them enough time to cement themselves as threats despite their relative greeness. Toyota of course NEEDS to get all of her shit in so we have just a big chunk of her doing all of her usual wacky flips, once you get past that and you have Kage/Amano just beating the piss out of each other then this starts to pick up real well especially with that one spot where Kage tries doing Aja's escape out of a German suplex by falling down and throwing a kick only for Amano to …

  3. There's 2 titles for the show. The Outbreak title which is the Wrestle-1 title. Then, TNA's which is One Night Only Global Impact 2014. In case anyone was confused... Anyhow, I was completely ignorant to the fact that Sanada wrestled in TNA. I've been doing research for 2011-2015 AJPW and Sanada shows up early on in his team with Manabu Soya. So, I got distracted and watched a few Sanada matches in TNA including a recommended World title challenge vs AJ Styles. However, this match for Aries' X-Division belt is the best. It's thankfully more Jr. Puro style than TNA TV style. It's fought at a quick pace with excellent execution and with little daylight between stri…

  5. This was fantastic. Loved the Naito vs. KENTA interactions, superb stuff. Tanaka & Marufuji beat the shit out of each other too & it was great. KENTA's FIP segment was super strong, great selling from him. Hot finishing stretch. Yep, this ruled big time. ****1/2

  7. First of all, Hero's entrance attire = badass. That ski mask + the "Fighting Spirit" hoodie. Awesome. Then Reed Bentley came out to the old Kings of Wrestling theme - that was a nice heel touch. Hero goes straight for the kill, as he just wants to beat the shit out of Bentley - his beatdown of Bentley was tremendous. As a result Bentley knows he needs to do something to get back into the match so he picks up Hero's arm & starts working over it. He does a great job working that arm & Hero sells it fantastically. From then on Hero fights from underneath for quite a bit, he gets some absolutely tremendous comebacks in - his strikes came off as so deadly in this matc…

  8. TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus vs Samoa Joe - TNA Lockdown 2014 Shoot Style Rules TNA 2014-2017 is a dark time man, well I guess you have the Broken Hardy stuff but outside of that, it is really surprising that company made it out the other end intact. Another dreadful finish that mars an otherwise decent match. I am all for overbooking/run-ins I think they can be great spice for a match but when they are random or forced they come off as heatless and as anchor. A maskless Abyss drags Joe down into the DEPTHS OF HELL aka underneath the wrestling ring. Joe comes out. He is all enraged and Magnus sells shock & fear well, but they have lost the crowd. Joe thr…
