Kenny spends the first half of this working over Phoenix. Despite his generic indy wrestler name, Owen Phoenix was decent and always worked as well as the high-flying babyface underdog. Kenny is in full heel DDT anime villain mode. He gets under your skin as an irritating little shit, but I could do without him doing his chainsaw forearm spot as that was too campy for my tastes. Phoenix showed plenty of fire in the finishing stretch, with him getting a very convincing near fall on a brainbuster before he is put away with Croyt's Wrath. AJPW Triple Crown Champion Masakatsu Funaki vs SUWAMA - AJPW 3/17/13 This is the rubber match. SUWAMA won the first and Funaki the second. It has only been 6 months since Funaki successfully defended his Triple Crown. SUWAMA joined forces with the gaijin Joe Doering and Masa Chono in Last Revolution, which seems heelish, but there is no heeling in this match. I definitely want to go shopping for sunglasses with Masa Chono at some point in my life. Unfortunately this is the least of their trilogy, it is still a very good match but there is not as much pep in their step. There is a lot of ragdolling for the other. This was actually quite a well worked David vs. Goliath trios match. Cage, Steen & Elgin were just throwing the smaller dudes around, while they came back to the match w/ their wacky, flippy hope spots & comebacks. ***1/2
