I don't know how many people actually watch CMLL but everyone should know here who Blue Panther is. Last night at the 75th anniversary show, Blue Panther lost his mask to Villano V in probably one of the biggest upsets in a while. Everyone thought that Villano would lose but I guess CMLL thought they were pull one on the audience and have Panther lose his mask to a fat, slow as hell not over at all guy like Villano V. It's a shame really.

So a few weeks ago, George Steele posted on his message board that Killer Kowalski was brain dead and had been taken off life support. A week or so later, he wasn't dead, so I noted that obviously this wasn't true on another board and somehow got into a ridiculous argument over it. So Kowalski dies about 2 weeks later...and now we get this in the new WON: This is Bruno, Steele, Kowalski's family, et al working Dave, right? Everything that I've ever heard about brain death and read about it after this news item came out indicates that brain death means that the person is dead. Brain death is determined in part by the patient being unable to breath when taken of…

Was there any explanation given, storyline or otherwise, on Mr. Perfect's change of mangers in his initial run? First Genius, then Heenan, and then Coach? At first I was thinking there was some sort of trade with Hennig and the Beverly Brothers, but then I remebered that Heenan was in between them.

Isn't this a bit much? This really reads so ridiculously that it seems to be either fake or the most uninentionally hilarious episode of WWE television since Vader fell down.

http://www.f4wonline.com/content/view/6432/105/ The tickets are still being bought so the promotion still gets their money, but if this happens more with more events, could it hurt fan goodwill to the point that they'll stop spending money on other stuff sold by the promotion? Will there be less fans in the building and thus less fans buying merchandise? This could have some interesting repurcussions. Also, one of the posters here with a legal background needs to explain how Ticketmaster buying tickets from themselves before the onsale to resell at 4x face value is legal. Is it more of an anti-trust issue than something small-scale?

I've seen it off and on for years dating back to an article somewhere, but I can't recall what it was. Can anyone remember?

The return of Shane-o-Mac and the white boy shuffle The birth of Chris Jericho: Serious Man Mike F'N Adamle as RAW GM I'm sure a lot of folks here have opinions for us about this show.

Last night, I was watching the HEATSEEKERS roundtable, and they really buried Luger. It was seriously harsh, with none of them having anything nice to say besides that he could sometimes have a good match if he had the right opponent. They even say that his USFL teammates didn't like him, either (despite their only reference being his coach in the USFL whose comment had to do with Lex's on-field play and not his attitude). One of them -- possibly Bischoff -- even said that even though he drew in the late 80's against Flair, really anyone who had been in the Horsemen would have probably drawn in the same circumstances. Bischoff also called him a cancer. (Funny, EB…

Which workers, managers, commentators, etc. do you guys think survived the switch from the 80s to the 90s? Who were most notably left behind?

His the trailer, it's pretty long actually http://www.horizonent.tv/screening_area/the_real_angle.html I'd watch it, just from watching it my opinion on him changes. The part where he's sorta drunk with chew in his mouth on the plane.. pretty nasty. Thoughts?

I've been watching alot of 80's matches lately and went ahead and made my own personal Top 100. I know some of picks may be weird so feel free to comment on them, or even better, other matches that I haven't seen and you think should be in there. Here it is: Floyd's Top 100 matches of the 80's I'd like to add these matches would've made my list but my copies were too clipped to rate. I recommend to check them out too!: Tiger Mask I Vs. Kuniaki Kobayashi (New Japan - 11/4/82) Tiger Mask I Vs. Kuniaki Kobayashi (New Japan - 6/2/83) Owen Hart Vs. Keiichi Yamada (NJ - 6/10/88 ) Owen Hart Vs. Shiro Koshinaka (NJ - 6/24/88 ) ********************************…

He's been hired by the company to write on the creative team I'll reiterate my thoughts from TSM. I actually just read his blog and it's obvious he's a hardcore fan. He clearly watches all the shows (even ECW) and knows all the current storylines. He seems to have an above average (smart) knowledge of the business. He does say some markish type things but he seems to have a grasp on how wrestlers get over and the little things that help them get over. He's clearly been watching all his life so it's not like he's coming in cold (if that is even a positive with Vince). I would say he has a shot at making it if being a die hard fan isn't held agai…

In today's update, Dave mentions that WWE will be announcing that all their shows in the US will be rated PG. Any thoughts on what that will mean, and will this include PPVs too?

I was just going through some old posts on WC, and I was wondering who "dw" was. Surely, it's not Dusty Himself? http://wrestlingclassics.com/.ubb/ultimate...t=000550#000005 Did a lot of the boys post there? Currently, I only recognize Meanie, but there could be others. Sorry, kinda marking out for a second. I still get starstruck. . .

Wrestling is a tough occupation. Overall, you're going to have to look long and hard for something that's tougher. It's the realism of the toughness of wrestling which allows us to have feelings for the wrestlers combined with the drama of the fake aspects of wrestling that make a lot of us fans. Wrestling can only be done by people with the strongest will and the strongest hearts. Those who have the eye of the tiger. No wimps allowed. So it comes to no surprise that you will find many of the strongest hearts ever in wrestling. This is a "sport" for true men. Who in your mind has the biggest hearts in wrestling? Some but not all of my picks would inclu…

Off the top of my head: How many WWF vs WCW matches took place? I know of Rad Radford vs Chris Benoit from the Stu Hart birthday show in '95 and the famous Tazz ECW title win over Mike Awesome. Anything else? Spicolli-Benoit didn't get any attention at the time for some reason, as nobody seemed to realize how significant it was. How many cards had wrestlers from both WWF and WCW? The Pillman memorials, of course. Some USWA shows in '95 when they were working w/ the WWF while also serving as WCW's developmental group (off the top of my head, WCW sent Scott Studd, The Gambler, and Chris Kanyon there). Did anyone ever work WWF, WCW, and ECW within the spa…

ProWrestling.net summarizing info from Rolling Stone I'm unsure whether or not I should be surprised. This could end up being gigantic. For Ashley's sake, she should probably take a leave of absence, because the ribbing could get ugly and, well, on top of her drug problem, it could get dangerous.

Okay, so a couple of us are working on a Favorite/Greatest of All Time comp at Cmax amongst other boards. We took nominations, and we have a pretty hefty list of things that will eventually get voted down to something manageable (like 100 matches or so). It's an unfair premise for several reasons, not least of which is that almost everything nominated is from after 1995 or so. However, we're having a good time gathering the matches, and it will be a really fun comp in the end (I mean, honestly, when will Cheerleader Melissa ever again be on the same comp as Kerry Von Erich or Nick Bockwinkel? -- now, that's just freaking awesome). That said, I've gotten some goo…

Posted elsewhere by srossi: Off the top of my head: I suppose someone may have worked for WWF, NJPW, and UWA/LLI when they were friendly in the early '80s, maybe Hogan, Andre, or Tiger Mask. Other than that, maybe someone worked WCW, NJPW, and CMLL within a month around '96-'98? Ultimo? Liger? Konnan? Maybe even Kaz Hayashi? Did Negro Casas work WWF, NJPW, and CMLL in the course of a month when he did Super Astros shows?
