  2. This was such a great match. Shibata gives Kojima an awesome, brutal beatdown which ol' Cozy sells wonderfully + his little hope spots throughout the match & that big comeback in the end were GREAT. ****1/4

  3. Shibata's last match before he left New Japan in 2006 was against Tanahashi. This was their first meeting since Shibata's return to the company in 2012. Love how, as they are about to lock up, Shibata just SLAPS Tanahashi, showing right away what he is all about. The match is actually quite similar in it's structure as their 2006 Dome meeting - Shibata is the offense for most of it, he does a tremendous job just kicking Tana's ass & Tana is really good selling it. All of Tana's comebacks were really good too & I loved the finish; that was a great way of telling that Tana just BARELY survived, just BARELY escaped the asskicking Shibata's was giving him, as he got t…

  4. Antonio De Luca was one of the regulars for 4FW and he showed a lot of promise. Possessing a great look and loads of charisma, he was always a heel and his gimmick was that of an egotistical Italian douchebag. The crowd teases him with chants of 'Where's My Pizza!' as he is introduced. Carlito, who was released from WWE a few years earlier, is in incredible shape and starts this one off by spitting his apple into De Luca's face. De Luca was quite sloppy here, but he was still quite young and he more than made up for his in-ring shortcomings by showing a lot of character. He had a small flap on his tights that he would arrogantly flap to generate some crowd heat as he beat…

  5. The weakest match of their trilogy, but it was still very good. The opening sequences were awesome, then it transitioned into Okada working top, and it was very enjoyable - what made it better is that Okada worked over Ibushi's neck throughout the match to prepare for the Rainmaker, and it paid off in the end. Very good stuff. ***1/2

  6. KO-D Openweight Title Match: Shigehiro Irie (c) vs. HARASHIMA - DDT Ryogoku Peter Pan 2013 18/08/2013 I can’t help but love Irie’s entrance. Him crying just at the moment makes you automatically on his side. He was fantastic during the match as well as was HARASHIMA. I loved how everything built throughout with there being tons of great escalation in offence both guys. Really loved the early sections of the match. HARASHIMA trying to beatdown Irie with his strikes only for Irie to lay into him with a lariat or squish with his body by sitting down on HARASHIMA’s chest. There was a great sense of struggle in the match where momentum constantly shifted back and forth. I…

  7. This was really good. Kana dominated most of it, and Nakajima fought from under. Kana was great with her killer looking offense while Nakajima had some really fun comebacks. ***3/4
