WWE Champion CM Punk vs John Cena - WWE Night of Champions 2012 I chose Motley Crue/KISS over this on the same night in Boston and I dont regret that decision one bit. Paul Stanley is fucking hilarious live. That was definitely a Top 5 concert for me. Never have seen this match before, this is one of the last big time WWE matches I have never seen before. I am pretty sure it goes to draw and I am 100% positive Punk retains so we will see. I love the chemistry these two have together and I think this feud is better positioned to succeed with Punk as the heel. Punk turned heel at RAW 1000 to set up Punk vs Rock at Rumble. All Japan Triple Crown Champion Masakatsu Funaki vs SUWAMA - AJPW 9/23/12 These two have great chemistry together. It is the perfect pro style vs shoot style because SUWAMA has a distinct power based style that is credible against Funaki in this context. In a mildly famous match, Funaki defeated Akiyama for the Triple Crown in a 5 minute sprint that is electric. I highly recommend it. This is his first defense. The first half of this is great, so much struggle. Great stand-up Greco-Roman grappling. Funaki is using kicks and holds to control. It is SUWAMA's power game that is the great equalizer. Shibata's first match in NJPW since 2006. And it's amazing. It goes for about 3 minutes, but it's amazing. Sakuraba & especially Shibata get super heat from the crowd as they beat the shit out of young lion Hiromu. Their offense is BRUTAL. Hiromu also gets little offense in, and all of that RULES. He shows great fire & his strikes to Shibata at the beginning were fantastic. Fantastic stuff all around - awesome crowd heat, amazing work on the offense by Laughter7, great fire, selling & brief offense by Hiromu, and Inoue plays his role well too. He didn't do much, but he played his part. ****

The first five minutes is largely inconsequential, lame grappling but it picks up when Ibushi starts working Generico's arm. Generico's selling is very consistent in that he's always doing it but he still hits all his stuff just fine. Some of the offense in this match is pretty incredible though. I thought the teases of Generico's corner brainbuster were cool. It was a bit long but still fun and I thought much better than their first match.
