Hotstuff comes out to a mash up of the Fugees and Donna Summer which is neat. Necro goes right for him and they’re just stiffing each other with hard chops. He clotheslines Hernandez over the top rope, but when he follows him out gets caught on the apron and press slammed to the concrete. These two aren’t holding anything back here. As they return to the ring Hotstuff gets in first with a low blow and is back blasting away at Necro’s chest. Final five minutes of a tag match that also sees Eddie Colon handcuffed to someone (presumably an associate of Bronco and Gonzalez) on the outside. The heels work over Carlos until Bronco misses a leg drop and he’s able to make a tag to his son. Carly goes to town on Ray, even doing his old man’s cartwheel. The Colons whip Gonzalez and Bronco into one another as the action then spills to the floor. Back inside and after Carly runs into the boot of Gonzalez, he reaches behind him so that the chap who is handcuffed to Eddie can pass him something. One Man Gang has got Ray Gonzalez in his corner for this and the action begins on the floor as Gang heads off to meet Carly as he makes his entrance. They fight (walk?) their way over to the merchandise table and fans are pelting Gang with drinks and rubbish whilst this one old dear is trying to slap him! Fed up with being a target for them, he drags Carly back to the ring and throws him inside. He picks up his chain and starts to choke Carly with that as the ref lets him do what he pleases. The constant huge plus point when watching WWC are the crowds. Even when the arena is only about a quarter full they make a ton of noise, cheer their favourites and boo the bad guys. When you don’t have that crowd noise it takes away so much and that was the case here. Modern commentary (they mention Carlito Caribbean Cool and Primo Colon) has been added over, but in doing so they’ve completely silenced the crowd noise. The match itself is joined in progress as Gonzalez goes for a big splash off the top but Carly gets a foot up and he goes flying into it. Like a lot of the WWC footage that we have this is joined in progress. Pitbulls 2000 are, I think, Gary Wolfe and John Kronus, although I can find nothing online to support that Kronus was ever in a team called that. A super basic 80s style tag match with distraction spots so the ref misses seeing the face tag, the illegal man for the heels interfering and providing assistance from the apron and long rear chinlocks. An accidental clash of heads sees both Kronus and Invader I go down and the latter is then finally able to make the tag to his partner. Invader III out to ‘Burning Heart’ by Survivor. Folk rarely seem to be in a hurry in Puerto Rico and there’s no difference here. Suave goes to the eyes to and brings the Invader to his knees with some punches. There’s a bit of fire in Invader’s comeback including a great looking dropkick as Rico retreats to the outside to recover. He’s out there fiddling in his tights for something, whatever it is is now in his fist which he’s shielding from his opponent and the official. Rico clocks Invader with the object before putting it in his mouth, out of view, as the referee questions him. He removes it from his mouth, drills Invader again and this time puts it under his arm…

Mascarita misses on the first move of the match, Piratita launching him over his head from where he was supposed to dropkick Pierrothcito but comes up short. After Morgan levels him with a clothesline, Stacy enters the ring, grabs the mini pirate by the hair and slams him backwards to the mat. Tigresa and Pierrothcito are in to help their partner out while Stacy’s are content to watch on from the apron. Plenty of double and triple teaming by the heels which the official is happy to let go. Abby picks up some bolt cutters on the way to the ring but doesn’t even make it inside as Gonzalez goes out to meet him on the arena floor. ‘The Butcher’ hits him with those cutters and Ray is busted open within the opening few seconds. A basketball backboard has been lowered in the building which Abby repeatedly slams Gonzalez’s head into before trying to force him through the hoop! He pulls out his trusty fork and jabs away with that. They eventually make it into the ring, but as soon as they are inside, Abby throws Ray right back out.
