Going I was expecting this to be a light hearted squash, but Sugar actually got to be fairly competitive with Kansai. Match had a little too much crowd brawling and thus felt less compact than it should have been, but Sato trying to cut Kansai down was pretty good. Kansai is far removed from her prime intensity, but still has some brutal kicks and suplexes in store. Dug the Sleeper Hold near KO and Kansai mocking Sato's attempts to attack her. This including absorbing kicks to her face and doing squats when Sato tried to work her leg.

Here's a rare creature – a slow paced GAEA match. Yamada looked really good dominating with her superior striking early on and Kaoru would only get minuscule offense. A superplex and sleeper spot end up being important and setting up the stretch run. Both sold well down the stretch and KAORU avoiding Yamadas finisher was really good. I wasn't sure how these two would click in a singles match but they did just fine.

Ken Shamrock & Dan Severn vs Owen Hart & Mark Henry -RAW 6/15/98 On paper this looks awesome and it is pretty fun for time period. Shamrock & Owen are the highlights. I really liked Shameock's intensity in exacting revenge. Great sequence is the ankle lock attempt into an Owen enziguiri. Mark Henry was super fun in 98 and bumped well for Severn. Owen punts Severn in balls. But missile drop kicks Henry. Shamrock hot tag is stopped by a sharpshooter counter to a Rana. Then the midcard (DX, Nation and Vader) come out for a big brawl. A refreshing straight tag match in a sea of brawls.

Some great exchanges between UG and Angel Azteca here. Cool to see Angel still hanging and banging with the kids. Man did CMLL have a roster of amazing athletes in the late 90s, Ninja de Fuego and Oriental are two pretty random names but each looks like the most spectacular dude in the world at various points. It also helps when you got a pair of professionals in Virus and Rencor stooging for you. Another super fun match in a stream of quality lucha material from CMLL.
