This match a little rough around the edges but worked well for the most part, with Usuda coming in as the straight shooter and Honma the more reckless indy scrapper. Honma with the high kick at the bell, followed by the piledriver and German suplex combo was fun. Usuda mostly works a submission game, targeting a little bit of everything, and he'll supplement his groundwork with strikes. At one point, Honma flies to the outside with a great tope con hilo, piledrives Usuda on the floor and hits a scary-looking top rope dropkick to the floor. Also that armbreaker he hits on Usuda from the top was pretty gnarly. Usuda finishes the match by a high kick followed by a nasty game…

It's another chapter in the series of Improbably Great Usuda vs. Indy Scum matches. I wish Usuda had worked IWA Japan so we could see what he could do with the Great Takeru. I think Honma was already doing regular deathmatches at this point as he looked sleazier and seemed to have forgotten about the finer intricacies of pro wrestling. He just went for big fucking bombs and looked noticably worse during stand up sections than he did earlier in the year. Aside from some slight lack of direction on Honmas part this was a real good match, let me tell you: Usuda pretty much held the whole thing together with his selling, ability to come up with exciting counters and absolutel…

Scott Norton vs Yuji Nagata - NJPW 9/23/98 Vacant IWGP Championship Holy shit! Did this come out of left field! Great match! So some context: Chono had to relinquish the championship after winning the belt for the first time from Fujinami due to injury in August of '98. So why the hell are two midcarders wrestling over the title? The top three players in New Japan were Keiji Mutoh (NWO 4 Life), Kensuke Sasaki and Shinya Hashimoto. It feels like the booking had graduated Hashimoto to a Choshu or Inoki class where he no longer needed the championship and instead would be in special attraction matches against Naoya Ogawa. Mutoh was penciled in to win the championship…

Vader vs Bradshaw - WWF Breakdown I am a total mark for super heavyweight slobber knocker. It is my favorite style. This was a great hoss slug fest. Bradshaw was throwing some stuff shots especially clothes lines. Bradshaw is a big boy. Throwing Vader around impressive. Bradshaw had a good big boot. Vader throwing stairs was wicked. Not to be outdone Vader murders Bradshaw with a clothesline on the outside. Vader splash and Vader Bomb Kick Out! Bullshit! This crowd sucks no heat. I guess neither character is over. HOLY SHIT! Bradshaw tries to take Vaders head off with three Clotheslines From Hell! It is a neck breaker that finishes Vader should have been Clotheslines…
