Figure its easier this way It seems obvious that since Raw is going back to 3 hours (give or take) on Netflix, they don't want to change the pace of the shows too much. It seemed like the show last night just stopped at 2 hours and there was still more to go.

The Saudi deal going sideways, the stock market woes, firings of top brass, cutting down on house shows, rumors of low morale among the talent, and now this. Between all of this and the XFL folding, Vince's head must be spinning. It's either that or he is delusional enough to think these are problems to be overcome. I naively thought that they would have become stung by the 2008 recession, but all those feelings I had then have resurfaced and there is actual tangible proof now that their luck might be up.

Maybe this belongs on the youtube channels thread, but has anyone seen this channel? A lot of it is stuff already on the network/peacock, but they also have a whole bunch of stuff not there like the Survivor Series 96 Free for all match, a 2003 Nasty Boys Dark match, and even a Dragon Gate match (World 1 vs Warriors). Good to see that they're doing something with their archives.

A triple-header by the generous and benevolent WWE as they provide exciting wrestling action for all the poors who can't afford to drop $50 on AEW's offering. I figure one thread for all three shows is fine. I'm honestly not watching NXT - I couldn't even tell you what's on the card - but I'm curious about GUNTHER vs. Goldberg, and I'll check out Evolution in the hopes that it overachieves. I remember the first one being one of the best PPVs in years at the time, but that was during the dark senile Vince days.

I see this in two perspectives. People Vince should have kept, against who should have stayed. The first one is probably less arguable, but if there’s anybody who embodies both of these statements it’s Bret Hart. But I’m thinking more along the lines of who should have been kept during the lean years of the early-middle 90’s when it was revolving doors in Stamford in the middle of the heat being brought on by Washington. I personally think that even more than Hogan, they needed Bobby Heenan and Gene Okerlund during that time. Their replacements but one had a clear disconnect to the wrestling business. The exception to this was Jerry Lawler, who was only ever ma…

This is something I've pondered for years now, looking on from a distance, with Royal Rumble '25 being the only WWE show I've seen in the last 5 years. To me, the popularity of this era seems more difficult to pin down than the 80s boom or the Attitude era. But a big part of my ignorance is probably because I haven't been watching religiously like I did back then. WrestleMania 2022 (not even sure of the numbering off the top of my head anymore) seems to me like a turning point. Cody returned that weekend, arguably the most important star of this era, and there was a very noticeable buzz coming out of it that hadn't been heard in WWE since, I dunno, Bryan's peak or m…

The preface to this is I only started playing video games on my own as an adult last year. I quit doing it in my teens but watched my brother and maybe joined in if I was too bored to do anything else but the new systems impressive as they were didn’t have a whole lot of sway towards my attention. That was 20 years ago and in understanding how much has changed, I found last years game to be a bit of a wake up call. I also got tired of playing stuff on my phone to be honest. I see this years game as an opportunity to be as creative with how I pull things off as I do talking here. I have found playing it to be invigorating to my sense of history with the custom ro…

So WWE announced their WWE ID program where they partner with wrestling schools of WWE related folks (like Cody's, Seth's and Booker's) to develop and mentor prospects on the indy scene they see something in. In addition they will give them a stipend for their prospects to be able to live on so they can focus more time on development. According to them, they want to raise the profile of top indy names and strengthen the whole "independent wrestling ecosystem" as they call it. On paper this all sounds good, WWE gets a pipleline of talent and it will help at least some folks on the indies make ends meet while trying to better their craft. In the Vince days, this 100% w…

I get the distinct impression that I am going to regret starting this topic for a couple of reasons. Either everybody is going to ignore it, and I am going to be the only person posting in this thread, or as per new tradition, this thread will immediately veer horribly off-topic and become yet another forum for airing grievances about the current political climate in the United States. However, being the eternal optimist that I am, I figured I would see if anybody has actually bothered to watch the new network TV series on A&E called “LFG” and actually felt like discussing it? If you have seen it, I wondered if anybody had an opinion? For those of you that …

I'm excited for the show. DIY/MCMG should be good and maybe even great. I'm not sure it needed to be 2-out-of-3 falls, but I don't watch the weekly TV so maybe that stipulation has something to do with the rivalry. I just like the idea of an old school tag match between two seasoned, "real" tag teams being featured on the show. Rockers/Orient Express vibes. I think the Men's Rumble is a bit of a toss-up and I like that. I can see Cena winning and us getting GUNTHER/Cena at Mania, but I can also see a screwy finish involving Seth and Punk (and maybe even Drew) that leads to some sort of multi-man at Mania. Then there's Roman and The Rock and the cliffhanger with Heyma…
