  1. I'm going to put this out there for discussion and it's mainly based on what people wanted for Rusev. Past HHH, Andre, and maybe Orton, are there any top card WWF heels that stayed on top of the card for more than a year, year and a half at a time? Yokozuna comes to mind. He showed up right before Royal Rumble 1993 and lasted until a little bit after Wrestlemania X. By KOTR he was in a tag match with the Headshrinkers. He was off of Summerslam and he'd be tagging with Owen by the next Wrestlemania. Umaga debuted, crushed some midcarders, crushed some giants, feuded against Cena, and then ended up with the midcard belt shortly thereafter. Savage may hav…

  2. Started by goodhelmet,

I have only seen one RAW episode since Mania in full so forgive me if my predictions are all over the place. I am trying to get in the head of Vince McMahon, who still has Kane in a main event level scenario. Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose - Kane stays with the Authority. Rollins wins. The dastardly Authority celebrates tomorrow on RAW. Ryback vs. Bray Wyatt - I would have Ryback destroy Wyatt but if Harper & Rowan interfere, reuniting the entire family, I am ok with it. John Cena vs. Rusev - Rusev should win but he won't. USA! USA! USA! New Day vs. Cesaro & Kidd (2/3 Falls) - This could be that MOTY level ta…

  3. Since it was mentioned in the JR thread, I thought it was a good idea. Right off the top of my head I can think of several: Potatoing JR on live TV Making fun of Chris Masters for getting off the juice (also on live TV) Constantly insulting Lilian Garcia repeatedly on live TV (I'm noticing a theme here)

  4. Started by goodhelmet,

Did anyone watch RAW tonight? I was distracted with NBA playoffs and catching up on my DVR. Seems like the low ratings have filtered into PWO as well.

So... Montreal is still a thing. On the other hand, really surprised they let the tag team champions beat their top two babyfaces.

  6. Started by shoe,

Obviously the WWE went with Jericho instead of Austin in the podcast role on Monday. The rumor is that Vince and co. weren't happy with the Chyna reference. I haven't heard Austin say anything about it. I listened to his Mania review and he seemed to have more critiques of the show than usual. Even in comparison to Fastlane and the Rumble . I thought his critiques were fair though. Some of them were Sting should have gone over, the interference in the match the allegiances weren't quite right , having a concert hurts the crowd , he had a few others. I was wondering if anyone had some takes on this.

So Raw is 30 minutes away and this might as well serve as the thread for people to throw out their KOTR thoughts before the show starts. I am hoping that Luke Harper wins the whole thing just because it would be fun to see him in the crown.

  9. So Brock claimed in his ESPN interview that he chose to re-sign with WWE because Vince McMahon "gave me an offer I couldn't refuse". So what do we know about Brock's WWE contract? - Dave mentioned in this week's observer that it's similar to his first two contracts. - The first contract was speculated to be worth around $5 million. - Brock's first contract in 2012 was for one year, four PPV matches, and a handful of live appearances. - The second contract signed in 2013 was similar, but seemingly had an additional clause written into it that allowed WWE to pay Brock a fixed figure to make additional appearances. For these additional appearances, Brock would be flow…

So Extreme Rules is this Sunday I guess? Haven't really been paying close attention to the TV, but that's what happens when all the real stars go home after March. Card actually looks fun, but looks like they set up far too many lose-lose situations with their booking. Pre-Show: Ceasro/Kidd vs. Big E/Kofi for the Tag Titles - Champs retain setting them up for Lucha Dragons. New Day officially turn heel cutting a promo on the fans. Street Fight: Luke Harper vs. Dean Ambrose - Dean Ambrose loses again, maybe setting up Harper for Reigns? Match should be a blast, but Ambrose REALLY needs to win an important match sometime soon. There's more potential in Harper going …

  13. RAW spoilers from London Bad News Barrett vs. WWE United States Champion John Cena kicks off RAW. Cena won a great match that went just over 10 minutes. Rock came back to Raw in February 2011 to set up his role at Mania and his & Cena's 3 year run headlining the show. When was this deal put together? Was there ever an alternate plan in the works for Mania 27?

  21. Having an IC title match in the main event spot of tonight's Smackdown I think speaks well for it, along with them putting the title on a star. I'll have more to say about this after Smackdown, but this is one of the things I'm most intrigued to follow in the coming months. I don't see them beating Bryan every week like they typically do their IC champs, mainly because it was in the WON that their goal is to give fans the types of matches they want from Bryan so they'll shut up. WWE habitually loses interest in these things after a few weeks or months, though, so it may not go anywhere meaningful. But for now, it's a noble goal.

We see some brief clips of Rollins on the Today Show while Steph interrupts the promo. And then Brock’s freakout after Rollins backed out of the title match. The opening theme song and we’re on tape for Thursday (Wednesday) Night Smackdown! from Fresno, CA. New WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, along with J and J security and the Demon….er…Corpo…

  23. Will mentioned something about a weekly WWE thread and I'm taking charge and starting one. I think this is manageable and will keep from being a huge thread. This is for discussion of WWE weekly programming both on TV and the Network for the upcoming week. So Raw, SD, Main Event (if you catch it somehow), Superstars, and NXT can be talked about here. We could get into discussion about NXT being in this thread, but I'll leave that up to everyone else.

is here. Consider this the live thread for Mania. No predictions, nitpicking at booking (we have plenty of threads for that) or arguing semantics until we get to the show proper. For now, what are you guys doing today leading up to the show? I'm mowing my lawn, shopping for groceries, doing the dishes and grading papers i.e. just a normal Sunday. Still, after doing 8 freaking podcasts this week, I have built myself up to get excited about the show. I think the awesome Hall of Fame helped my enthusiasm. Pre-show: Andre the Giant Battle Royal Cesaro & Kidd vs. The Usos vs. The Matadores vs. New Day (Tag Titles) Show Proper: Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler vs…

  25. You're on an elevator with a dude who used to watch WWF fairly regularly during the Hulkamania years and the Attitude Era. He's now 35 years old, has a wife, a couple of kids, a white-collar office job and lives in the burbs. He has fond memories of his years as a wrestling fan, but due to his life changing and wrestling "just not being what it used to be," he hasn't watched the modern product more than a handful of times since the WWF/WCW merger. What would be your 45-second elevator speech to try and convince this guy to watch modern WWE again?
