Did it ever mean anything? Could it ever mean anything if they ever brought it back? Why couldn't the European Title get over like the NWA TV title or the old National title when Dusty or Tully had it? http://wrestlechat.net/photo-speculation-that-rusev-lana-are-bringing-back-an-old-wwe-title-soon/ Do you have any memories of the European title?

I was reading Power Slam from April 2012 and the write up on the match is critical of Cena's actions in the post match. Apparently, the agreed finish was Cena wins but required help getting to the back, like HHH-Undertaker at Mania 27. That didn't happen, as Cena cut a promo, talked about taking a vacation, and left under his own power. Did Cena go into business for himself? Was he opposed to making Lesnar look strong? Why did nothing come of this?

This is what is on the show tonight... Kevin Owens debut The Ascension vs. Itami & Balor Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks The Lucha Dragons vs. The Vaudevillains Sami Zayn vs. Adrian Neville This show could be great or a complete disaster. I haven't decided which one yet. Still going to check it out.

Mentioned in the WWE and Meltz threads but I thought I'd start a separate one. He's been written off future storylines, including mania. Fuck him this is going to cost Bryan the belt now. (Bryan V HHH is now on for mania). That's all I care about now. I'm going to have to enter psychoanalysis over this shit

Man, that graphic at the beginning got me pumped for Warrior's induction speech. Not the video clips or promos... just the graphic. Fuck it, lets have a thread where we discuss Hall of Famers when they are announced.

It's time for the 2013 Hall of Fame elections. The criteria for the Hall of Fame is a combination of drawing power, being a great in-ring performer or excelling in ones field in pro wrestling, as well as having historical significance in a positive manner. A candidate should either have something to offer in all three categories, or be someone so outstanding in one or two of those categories that they deserve inclusion. The names listed below are those under consideration for this year. To be eligible, a performer must have reached their 35th birthday and completed ten years since their debut as a full-time performer, or be someone who has been a full-time pro…

The Royal Rumble is over and this is going to be a hot topic for a while, so I thought we could dump stuff here. Latest post from Dave: (Link will only work for subscribers) I don't recall Jimmy Valiant fans crapping on the Ric Flair vs Dusty Rhodes main event and chanting Valiant's name during matches he wasn't involved in. Daniel Bryan is a draw. Last night he asked the entire building if they came to see him, and they responded that they did.

So, the Shield is a hot act. Getting hotter all the time. Looking like a threat to the entrenched establishment. How do you think the boys in the back, the locker room lawyers, are going to bring them down? Besides pointing out Ambrose's lack of tan and how scrawny their arms are? Any ideas? If you were HHH, Orton, Cena, Lesnar—how are you planning to bring them down a peg or three?

The Rock vs. John Cena HHH vs. Undertaker (Hell In A Cell) CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho Bryan Daniel vs. Sheamus Big Show vs. Shaq (Shaq claims he will be there and they are playing up the idea that Show lost to a boxer and sumo wrestler at Mania) Team Teddy Long vs. Team Johnny Ace Woman's Match (Beth vs. Kharma?) Money In the Bank (Maybe?) If this is the line-up we are going with, I am happy with it. If anyone wants to meet up in Miami, let me know. I'll be hanging out with Brent Baker that weekend in South Florida.

I saw the Punk Twitter thread going nuts so I thought we could create a new thread for the "Greatest Promo Ever" and the fallout and leave the Twitter thread to his back and forth banter with Austin as well as Colt Cabana's updates.

For those who don't follow CM Punk on twitter, here's a sample of some of what you're missing He went to the dentist and hilarity ensued: Haley Williams, lead singer of the group Paramore and an apparent IRL friend of his replies:

In 2001, Triple H faced The Undertaker at WrestleMania 17. Some of the IWC (myself included) feared that Hunter would end the streak because of his already sizable pull in the company. Obviously, that didn't happen, and the IWC had a sense of relief. Now, ten years later, Triple H is once again pitted against The Undertaker at WrestleMania (27). Things have changed considerably since WrestleMania 17. Hunter went from dating Stephanie to marrying her to having children with her. His position in the company sky-rocketed (as a result of his relationship), which is evidenced by countless PPV main-events and World title reigns. Furthermore, his position behind the …

I have to say I was really impressed with the documentary part of the new True Story of Wrestlemania DVD. They did a good job of getting insight from a lot of people involved behind the scenes with WWF/E, quite a few wrestlers and several of the celebrities who have been involved. They talked to Donald Trump, William Perry, Bob Uecker, Mike Tyson and Pete Rose, among others, about their involvement, and also had some new quotes from Floyd Meriweather. Some of the highlights of the DVD: * Vince McMahon was pretty frank about what a big risk the first Wrestlemania really was. A direct quote from Vince: "If Wrestlemania 1 had not been successful, we would not …

Didn't want to believe that Sheamus-Daniel was going to be a dark match but I guess I can see it on the DVD release. Edge vs. Del Rio was better than i hoped for due to Del Rio going all out. I love working on a body part and using Edge's arm as the focus was all good for me. Add the big bumps from Del Rio and the hot ending and I was happy.

Did I read correctly that Undertaker vs HHH, streak vs career, is currently planned for Mania, with Shawn Michaels as guest referee? That's a pretty big deal to be mentioned in passing by Dave on Observer radio, although it may be a new development. Does this mean HHH wants to stop wrestling? I didn't figure he'd go much longer since he's being transitioned into a different role, but that's still a little surprising in some ways. Also, what's the latest on Sting? And I guess Rock is rumored to be the guest host? This can be the catch-all thread for WM rumors, discussion of the build and talk of the show itself.

The obvious fact everyone is kind of edging around is that all this controversy is just starting. Vince McMahon is going to go nuts while testifying before Congress. Big-time wrestlers like John Cena, Undertaker, and Triple H are going to be exposed as drug fiends. More wrestlers are going to die. These things are going to happen. There are also other things that could happen. Vince's muscle-mag cover is probably going to be paraded around at the congressional hearings. Some big-time whistleblower who can't be dismissed as out of the loop is going to tell the truth about how the company works. The end result of all this is that WWE is probably going to lose at le…

Now that we have some perspective... Was the Fragile X story planted by WWE?: At this point, I feel like there are 2 possibilities: Pam Winthrope was watching the tribute show, saw Daniel's facial features, and knowing about the disease as the parent of a child with it, made up the rest; or WWE planted the story. I think we can safely say that Chris Benoit would not have told anyone, especially a total stranger. Winthrope's story was amazingly vague and the radio station that interviewed her has not been forthcoming at all. Either way, she's got to be lying about something, and someone needed to know that it was a condition that one could reasonably think Daniel ha…

... was honestly kind of embarrassing. The shorter hairstyle and the horrid vest really, really made him look like an old timer trying to relive his glory days. His nasally, high-pitched non-steroid voice was kind of screeching also. For something hyped so well, with so much thought put into that aspect of it, it's like they had no idea what to do with him after bringing him back. And wow, it took all of two minutes for Jericho to revert back to the midcard catchphrases. It's here you realize this run will be exactly like the last one. I don't have especially high hopes for this return. Something tells me WWE knows they have to ride this while they can and …

So it seems that Flair mentioned a bunch of the Horsemen by name, including Chris Benoit. Live reports are saying that while there were some boos but mostly cheers. Seriously...what the fuck is wrong with people? I get that there are some idiots who want to separate the wrestling performances from the human being who murdered his family before killing himself, often so they can watch his matches, but c'mon...CHEERING AT THE MENTION OF HIS NAME? That is just remarkably fucked up. It reminds me of when Roman Polanski, absent so he wouldn't get arrested for fleeing the country so as to avoid 50 years in prison for drugging and violently raping a young girl, got a ri…
