In April of 1987, Jim Crockett purchased the UWF from Bill Watts. In doing so, he took on many of the debts of Watt’s UWF and unbeknownst to him, these debts were higher than initially thought. Along with the debt, Crockett got control of some of the contracts of the UWF including Dr. Death Steve Williams, Terry Taylor, The One Man Gang, Rick Steiner, and Sting.
