AWA All-Star Wrestling for Oct. 5th Chick Donovan vs. Steve Jones Donovan had been overheard saying that it took too long for Pat Tanaka to get a victory over the “Young Gentleman”, and said he was going out to show them how it was done. Jones came out with his friend and mentor, Mike Rotunda. Donovan came out followed by both members of Badd Company, but the moment they got to the ring, they went to the other side and stood by Rotunda, glaring at Donovan. Donovan started by flexing his biceps to try to intimidate Jones, but the English rookie looked distinctly unimpressed. He then tried to overpower Jones with a knuckle lock, only for Jones to reverse it into a …

AWA All-Star Wrestling on ESPN for August 10th Great Gama Singh vs. Chavo Guerrero This was an interesting match up, pitting the popular Guerrero who newly arrived in the AWA against Great Gama, who has been slowly but surely rising in the rankings. In spite of Singh’s history as a cut throat competitor, this was an exciting technical match up that looked like it could go either way throughout the match. Singh managed to get the Cobra Clutch on Chavo, but Guererro was quickly able to grab the ropes to break up the hold. Gama then tried to re-apply the hold, only for Chavo to wrap him up in a small package to get the pin. Gama Singh was clearly livid after the ma…

They trapped him in their corner of the ring, took every opportunity to cheap shot or gang up on Gagne, and blocked every attempt by the Nor-Am Express to come to the rescue. Gagne, for his part, fought back like a lion and seemed almo…
