Marufuji needed to rebound big after his intense bout with Miyahara, so fighting another member of the old guard was the only way to prove he could still hang at the top. No Suzuki-gun bullshit this time around, so both men just went out there and put on a fair yet emotionally intense match the best way they could. Lots of strikes from Marufuji of course, but Sugiura was right there at every counter to power his way back into the momentum. In the end, Marufuji failed to claim a major title once again, but at least it was another awesome match for a great 2018 he's having, ****1/2.

An awesome culmination of an almost half a year long build. This match was very great with both Buddy and Cedric bringing out the best of themselves to this big time match. Hell, I would even say it's arguably the best match in 205 live history so far. That said the crowd was probably the biggest negative; no they weren't dead, but they weren't as loud as I would've hoped. Put this match in front of a hot crowd, and many would be calling it a MOTY candidate. In a WWE ring though, I would say it's the best WWE match this year, ****1/2.

A fantastically paced 3-way dance that flowed perfectly. Daniel Bryan's pure babyface fire is absolutely unmatched & that was on full display when the match kicked into it's finishing gear. ***3/4

Impact Knockouts Champion Allie vs Su Yung - Impact 5/31/18 Casket I want to give this match a shoutout even though I won't be doing a formal review. I was really tired when I watched this match but I was really intrigued by it. I had heard of the Su Yung character and seen bits & pieces here & there, while also seeing her in action at a Shimmer event during Mania Weekend with PWO's own Jimmy Redman! I love, love the gimmick! The big difference between her & The Fiend/Bray Wyatt. Bray/Fiend is so pretentious and it is trying so hard to be psychologically deep and intellectual that fails under its own grotesque weight. Su Yung is awesome in her simplicity…

Impact World Heavyweight Champion Pentagon Jr vs Austin Aries - Impact 5/31/18 It has been an exhausting week between Eddie Van Halen's passing and work kicking my ass. I dont have much in the tank. I just wanted to watch some wrestling before bed and I enjoyed this a good bit. Aries is also the Grand Champion which some secondary title that has weird Round-System rules that maybe could work, I dont know. Anyways, Aries ends up unifying the titles. It is a Pentagon match so there's not exactly much in the way of deep psychology. I thought there were a lot of missed opportunities in the match between the chop to the steel post and Aries tying the mask to the ropes amo…
