Nearly fainted when I stumbled upon this, talk about an unexpected treat. Let's get the negatives out of the way - forget about any comparisons to their 1974 classic. Unfortunately this one is much more brief, and really isn't even a proper match, but is more of an angle. Still, it's Inoki and Oki in a one on one setting. If I get a minute, I'm gonna be thankful for that minute. And no, we're not talking about a minute like the Sakaguchi vs Oki match which was two minutes but the match-angle lasts quite a bit longer longer and has action throughout the entire thing. A Greek Death match is just a no holds barred submission match. Spiros Arion wishes he possesses an inch of charisma his manager Freddie Blassie has. Guy looks dull as dishwasher water standing next to the Fashion Plate. This is mostly brawling with a few holds here and there. Bruno tries to put Sprios away with a bearhug and a camel clutch (which Vince McMahon calls it as a version of a Boston Crab). Bruno gets the win after Spiros misses a top rope knee drop and Bruno submits him in a half crab. A serviceable brawl with a hot crowd, as to be expected with any Bruno MSG match. ★★¾

This is one of my all time favourite WoS matches. I'd put the grappling here up there with high end RINGS or lucha title matches. Just one trippy takedown or sweep after another, followed by another weirdo counter. The match didn't have huge intensity, but both guys worked hard for the holds and tried submissions. There are a few spots and logical reasonings that you will only see in a World of Sport match – choosing not to slam the opponent and instead forcing him to slip down your back, trying to pin his shoulders while in a surfboard, tripping the other guy while he is setting up a move etc. The highly entertaining work they do around a super basic move like a stepover…
