It’s a bit slower paced and more clunky than I would’ve liked. I don’t hate it but it’s not quite as much action as I was hoping for.

Somewhere, both Seth Rollins and Jon Moxley are watching this and are saying: ”What is Roman doing?! He’s making it look like he’s actually hitting the guy with his fist…and is hurting him!”

I don’t care what the popular consensus is, I like Drew McIntyre and I hope he wins here, dammit. There, I said it.

Ridiculous theatrics aside, that match was pretty damn good, gotta say. And I can’t stand Rollins. But those guys have a good chemistry together.

Was Roman Reigns the only guy in The Shield who could throw a convincing looking punch?

Agreed. That was exactly what I said the first time I saw him again. Last time I saw Rollins was when he was feuding with The Fiend and had that terrible cage match with the red light and giant clown hammer. Now he is doing some sort of bizarre character which seems incredibly forced, fake, inauthentic and that laugh is ridiculously stupid. They have managed to take somebody who was already annoying and make him ten times more annoying.

Apparently there must be some sort of symbolism with the shoes, he left them behind in the ring?

I don’t even watch this stuff on a regular basis, and I can’t say I didn’t see that one coming.

You said it there. That poor kid is clearly in way over his head, it’s not really fair to him. His Dad is a GOAT contender, he would look bad enough next to him even if he was not gangly and awkward. He probably needs a couple of years in NXT at the minimum

I wasn’t even sure that was Edge. For a moment I thought it might be Haku. (Incredibly obscure joke.)

I remember Shayna from when she was smashing everybody in NXT back when I watched that every week. I know from what I read that she got called up, Vince soured on her and they have not done a whole lot with her since. But having her lose to somebody who, at least based on what I saw is sloppy AF, seems like a weird call. But whatever. I don’t know enough about the WWE women’s division to comment, really. It wasn’t a terrible match, and it was no worse than anything I have seen on Dynamite with their women’s division.

Here’s a fun drinking game: do a shot every time Shayna pulls up or adjusts her tights. Speaking of Shayna, I am betting she was one of the happiest people when Vince retired and Triple H took over. I admit, I am totally unfamiliar with Liv Morgan. Am I missing something here? I have to be honest she’s not exactly impressing me. Considering the amazing amount of female talent WWE has, I have to be honest and say she’s not exactly striking me as the kind of person who should be holding a title.

As someone who hasn’t followed WWE regularly in years, I am quite enjoying these little introductory video packages they are doing in between the matches. I assume they are doing this because they realize a lot of fans are coming back to the product and want to bring them up to speed? EDIT: Oh yeah, @C.S. is right. I totally forgot that this is streaming on Peacock, we don’t have that in Canada still.

I didn’t know that either. It adds a great element to this match. Based on this match, I kind of hope this is not one and done.

You know, between the new creative direction with more focus on the championships, and Gunther’s overall presentation…the IC Title actually feels like it really means something again, for the first time and I don’t know how long. They are even building it up on commentary as the workman’s title.

Yeah, this is one of the main reasons I am actually watching this show!
