He doesn't have long hair. We know he doesn't have long hair. Fuck that stupid mask. I have no idea how anyone can get excited about OMG MASKED KANE~! (been seeing it on twitter & I know it's on WF although I refuse to go look) the last two runs have been terrible and WAY worse than Director of Operations Corporate Kane.

Observer HOF prediction/ballot question thread
Carlos Colon is really a no brainer for the HOF but he might not ever make it in due to Brody's death.

It's kayfabe brother. On TV it was Stanley Blackburn's decision to give the title back to Bockwinkel and Verne was all "Well if I knew that was going to happen I might not have retired"

I hope more and more people tweet #CancelWWENetwork after this show so I can keep pimping NWAClassics.com to them

Night of Champions Thread.
When was he good? Sleeper era? Granted, he was wrestling Rey a lot. I was on the "I don't get the Dolph love" train back then but I've firmly moved onto the "Please let this fucker die in a fire" train now. Carry on with your PPV discussion while I get caught up on NFL games in condensed mode and drink too much for a guy who is trying to stop getting fat.

Not all of us live where weed is legal Johnny. At least you'll be able to get the munchies first if you gotta eat a hat though.

Night of Champions Thread.
Another take on the chinlock question from twitter. This one is kind of tough but I'm gonna go with the Divas match being longer but by less than 2 minutes. I think the main will probably go around 13-15 minutes with close to half of that being chinlocky goodness. Suspect the Divas match will go around 8 minutes.

Well it wasn't the greatest of surprises but at least the JeriShow ended up being really awesome.

Forget about predicting the winners, let's predict how much of the Sting/Rollins match is dedicated to chinlocks. I'm gonna go with 6 minutes.

Are you still in?
Yea I really haven't posted shows regularly because I'm like 2 shows behind. You got me.
-
Are you still in?
This whole topic is so passive aggressive in nature though. You guys know exactly who you are talking about, why not just list the people and the promotions you want to hear from and then PM them to respond in this thread?
-
Are you still in?
Well there you go he just posted.

Are you still in?
I'm still in. And El Boricua just told me in PM yesterday he was gonna do Grimmas' summary idea to get caught up.

NWA On Demand
He talked about that on the podcast with Dave Meltzer. He said as soon as NWAClassics launched he had offers from a few people trying to sell him their tape libraries but that he didn't have the money or the resources to pursue it. And seeing as he's said it would take another 2-3 years to get all of the Houston footage uploaded I wouldn't imagine it would change until after that unless the service really blows up in popularity. (So for people who haven't, go subscribe already!)

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
At this point I'm going to agree too. Specifically in the cases of Wahoos Leg and RocketCrypt (despite my previous defense of) I talked to Flyin Brian recently and he said he was really swamped this month at work but was going to try and get caught up. I know Jesse got behind before and got caught back up so I'd like to give him the benefit of the doubt still.

1983 Project General Chatter Thread
I've had some stuff come up and haven't been able to write any shows or read anyone's stuff but I'll try and get caught up this weekend if I can. Probably won't post my next TV but hopefully I'll get the HemisFair show posted that was supposed to go up last week.

New Writers
With the way participation has dropped lately I would say it's very likely there will be one soon. There isn't one at this moment but stay active on here and you'll likely be able to jump in within the next month or so.

[1986-01-24-Houston Wrestling] Fabulous Ones vs Chavo & Hector Guerrero (Mexican Death)
I watched this about a month ago after the Cage match popped up on NWAClassics and liked it way better than the Cage match. It's cool seeing The Fabs as heels even though they were never the "cleanest" of babyfaces. The finish did suck but it's an awesome match and more evidence that both these teams are really under rated. The Fabs are a lock for my top 10, maybe even top 5 greatest tag teams and The Guerreros are gonna get on the list somewhere.

Earl Hebner inducted into TNA Hall of Fame - "the first referee to ever be inducted into a professional wrestling Hall of Fame."
That's not a good defense. People in the business also all rave about how they love working with Kane. Or how easy it is to work with Jeff Jarrett. I've never seen anyone that worked with Killer Tim Brooks say anything but glowingly positive things about him yet when I watch a Killer Tim Brooks match all I see is a guy who is total shit.

Worst Professional Wrestler Ever?
Of course there a ton of no name indy scrubs that would fit this but the OP specifically ruled them out. "Someone who made it through wrestling school, and into a well known promotion, but were just so bad at it?" I still think Jeff Gaylord is probably the best fit for this thread.

You think I'm gonna sully my eyes by watching Raw?

Just about every shitty wrestler with a lengthy career has ONE match you can point to and say it was good. But none of them get some kind of reputation as a great hand who can carry anyone and everyone.

NWA On Demand
Killer Brooks is such a weird case. Anytime I've seen anyone who was in the business like Gary Hart, Mark Nulty, James Beard etc write about him in a book or on wrestlingclassics.com it's filled with nothing but praise about how he's a great hand and can lead anyone to a good match. But I've never seen anything even CLOSE to a good match from Killer Brooks. He's the shits. One of the most hyperbolic wrestling commentary moments I can remember is Gordon Solie on an episode of 1983 Georgia Championship talking about a Killer Brooks vs. Johnny Rich TV match as something that could "main event any arena in the world"
