  1. Looks like it's from 8/4/85 based on comparing it to the Gilbert/Reed match from the same night. I don't know how many you guys watched for the DVDVR set and didn't include but it's definitely not one of the 2 that got on that set.
  2. I'm fine with whatever. I'm not really sure I could handle a big influx of talent with what I want to do so I'd probably only be looking to pick up 2-3 guys anyway.
  3. Everything stays up.
  4. If they thought that Galloway "blew his push" based on PERFORMANCE then they are out of their minds. He was doing great stuff at the end of 09 well into 2010, he delivered as The Chosen One all the way up until the point where The Nexus killed off Mr. McMahon and left him pretty much directionless. If they think he blew it based on the whole Terell thing, that's a different matter.
  5. So Gino Hernandez & Tully Blanchard vs. Tony Atlas & JYD just got put up and I already watched it. I'm not really a star rating guy but I'd say it's somewhere around the *** range. Maybe more fun than good but I like all these guys so I really enjoyed it. Gino & Tully are so great at being two pieces of shit in over their heads against two guys who are bigger, stronger & tougher.
  6. I actually just did the list, shoe did most of the dates. And all of the bolding, I have no idea when it comes to that unless I saw it on the DVDVR set.
  7. I watched Nick Kozak vs. Gino Hernandez and thought it was pretty good. I have never even really heard of Nick Kozak but he's pretty good here as a fiery babyface and he's definitely better than Putski & Ox Baker so if you enjoyed those 2 matches you should like this even more. This was another Gino match where he talks trash on the mic and gets jumped by someone not in the match, this time running down David Von Erich who can't compete in their scheduled match due to Gino putting 20+ stitches in his head and then getting attacked by Kevin Von Erich. Looks like there is a Dynamic Duo vs. Tony Atlas & JYD match getting ready to go up soon, I'm looking forward to that. Based on the two big gimmick matches with Butch Reed I think people might be underselling JYD as a worker.
  8. I wish they would have switched it and had Orton/Wyatt that way the two guys who are totally dead as characters and bring down everyone they touch could be stuck with each other. Hell they could feud for a year for all I care. If Roman Reigns gets something good out of Bray Wyatt tonight he'll have made himself the undisputed MVP of WWE PPVs this year.

Give me 3 matches to watch. I love Saito so I'd like to give this team a chance. If I like what I see I'll seek out some more on my own.

  12. This was an awesome chain match. I like Dog Collar matches better than straight chain matches because the chain being around the neck really makes it feel that much more brutal and dangerous. Butch Reed was awesome in this, especially liked him using the chain to take out Dog's feet after Dog started the match kicking his ass. Also dug the elbowdrops where he wrapped the chain around his arm first. I also really loved the finish to this and Butch Reed pulling on the ringpost while JYD sneaks in behind him got a big laugh from me.
  13. This too: https://twitter.com/davemeltzerWON/status/622295278146588672
  14. Baretta is a weird case, I remember reading reports when they called him up in the DudeBusters tag team that they were going to use it as a vehicle to make him the star of the team but then the team didn't do anything. And then they released Caylen Croft and they started saying stuff about Trent Baretta getting a singles push but instead he kept on not doing anything until he got released. Galloway also works for EVOLVE and Dragon Gate on top of TNA.

This is a blog post from Cody Rhodes about Dusty. You should read it. http://www.beingbrandirunnels.com/?p=120
  16. If people want WWE Network to ever upload some of their territory footage, then they need to help make this thing a success. Because if this fails it just strengthens WWE's "no one cares about old footage" attitude. That's not to mention how awesome some of the matches are that they've uploaded so far and that it's totally worth the $8.99 all on it's own.
  17. Boesch @ Houston, TX – Sam Houston Coliseum – September 8, 1978 Kevin Von Erich d. Don Kodiak Gino Hernandez d. Nick Kozak Mando Guerrero d. Killer Brooks Coloso Colosetti fought Dale Valentine to a draw Leroy Brown & Dusty Rhodes d. Killer Karl Krupp & Gary Hart Brass Knuckles Title: Rocky Johnson d. Bruiser Brody © I don't really mind them not uploading full shows when they leave out all the stuff I would have skipped over anyway. That's actually kind of a weak card by Houston standards even with Dusty & Brody on it.
  18. No but you can always use this thread.
  19. I almost missed that Terry Gordy vs. Dick Murdoch match down there at the end. That sounds like it could be fucking awesome.
  20. They were actually teaming as Lo Down for a little bit before Tiger Ali Singh came along and fucked them all up. They were babyfaces when they first popped up as a team.
  21. Butch Reed's street fight attire was questionable, as was him taking the time to make sure his shirt was tucked in after taking over on JYD. Damn this crowd is hot. This is an awesome match. Butch Reed is great just beating on the Dog, whipping him, choking him with the belt and making the crowd pelt him with trash. To the point where they have to get on the PA and tell people to stop throwing things into the ring. JYD's comeback is awesome the the crowd is fucking HOT. Finish is pretty lame though, I never did understand Mid-South's obsession with ref bumps and bullshit in these No DQ matches. Doesn't hurt the match though this is still really damn good. Bonus points to Carl Fergie who didn't do the usual "ref walks around the ring and sweeps all the trash out with his foot" thing so most of the crap that got thrown into the ring stayed there which just added to the gritty street fight feel.
  22. If you wind up with a Chavo Guerrero vs. Harley Race unification match you'll get my $ for sure.

    Found the whole thing:
  24. They just uploaded a Butch Reed vs. JYD Dog Collar Match. I know I've seen the finish not sure if the full match was out before. Either way I'm stoked about all these Butch Reed matches!
  25. WWE own Watts' tapes but these matches still happened in the Sam Houston coliseum in Paul Boesch's NWA Houston Promotion. Watts & Boesch had a deal where Houston was supplied Mid-South talent for it's Friday shows along with other people that Boesch would bring in outside of the Mid-South roster. The weekly TV in Houston was a mix of Mid-South TV and Paul Boesch interviews & highlights of the Sam Houston coliseum show from the week before.
