So you DID have Fabs ahead on RNR on your list? I was wondering, I could see a lot of people thinking RNR have more value. My first 2 choices were Barry & The Fabs and I knew I was only going to get 1 so I'm happy so far. No one else who has been taken has been someone I thought I had a realistic shot at.

There's still options for making the New Fabs thing work.

I thought a lot about making Barry Windham my #1 babyface in Southwest and taking him with the 2nd pick. I had enough backup options that I felt better taking the #1 tag team I wanted instead. Barry in Portland against Buddy Rose should be interesting.

Exchanging dates for draft picks is certainly not in the giving spirit of VJM's booking of Andre the Giant. If we have a roster limit of 32 I could maybe work something out for my 29th pick.

It really just depends on your goals. If your idea is to make some dream territory that took the best from everywhere then a strategy of "best overall" would make sense but if you just want to book the best possible version of Southeastern or Memphis that you can think of then they really wouldn't include Ricky Steamboat.

Yea but part of the appeal of using guys who have already been in the territory you are booking is that you get to use established history and not have an entirely blank slate.

I don't really think you could have gotten Larry Z late in the 2nd round so if that is who you wanted to build around it was definitely smart to take him now. I don't think it's a bad 1st round pick at all really.
